With fans already eagerly gearing up for Daredevil: Born Again, there may be some more good news on the horizon. According to an Instagram post by DFRNT Health and Fitness in Melbourne, Australia, Charlie Cox is reportedly training for his role in an upcoming Avengers movie.
As most fans know, Marvel will soon culminate all its existing storylines into two big Avengers movies, which will focus on Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom, who will serve as the villain in this multiverse. Moreover, many heroes from the Marvel universe (and some from the X-Men universe) are expected to appear in the movie.
While this post does not necessarily confirm that Charlie Cox and his famed character would be a part of the Avengers movies, as the fitness studio may just be mistaken about the upcoming role that Cox is preparing for, it could also be true as Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars are indeed set to feature a huge ensemble cast, and Daredevil can very well be a part of this narrative.
What did DFRNT Health and Fitness reveal about Daredevil's inclusion in the upcoming Avengers movies?
DFRNT Health and Fitness posted a new photo on Instagram with Charlie Cox, whose caption seemed to hint that the actor is gearing up for a role in the upcoming Avengers film. Alongside the picture with Charlie Cox and his wife Sam Cox, the caption of the photo read:
"It’s been Awesome having Charlie and his wife, Sam Cox in at DFRNT over the past few weeks! Charlie is currently training for his role in the upcoming @marvel Avengers movie where he will play @daredevil. It’s been our absolute pleasure working with you both and we can’t wait to watch you on the big screen!"
If the gym is not mistaken, this could mean the confirmation of Daredevil in either of the two Avengers movies. It would also make complete sense as Marvel is bringing the character back with the upcoming series, which will premiere in March 2025.
The series may also try to link the character in a way that makes him a natural part of the Avengers universe. This post will draw more attention to the series, regardless of whether the character would appear in future Marvel movies.
Why Daredevil's inclusion may be tougher in the Avengers movies?
So far, if we look back at the older Avengers movies and the series starring Charlie Cox, both have completely different tones and approaches. Moreover, the character of Daredevil seems to be limited to one particular area while the Avengers have been dealing with inter-planetary threats for quite a while.
So while some of the newer superheroes with cosmic-grade abilities will fit in naturally with the MCU superhero group, it may be a bit of an upward reach for Matt Murdock.
But as we have seen before, this is far from an improbable situation, and given that this remains one of Marvel's most popular characters, it is rather unlikely that the movies will not try to bring in Daredevil.
More details about this should come out soon. Stay tuned for updates.
