We Live in Time is an upcoming film from the independent entertainment company A24. A24 released the first trailer for the upcoming heartfelt film, which sees Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield share the screen for the first time.
The trailer of We Live in Time provides viewers with a look at an unconventional romance between Andrew Garfield's Tobias and Florence Pugh's Almut. It follows the growth in the two's bond over a decade. The trailer showcased an encounter between the two when Pugh's character hits Garfield's character with a car.
The trailer hints at a non-linear timeline. The trailer begins with a scene featuring the couple's young daughter, as they try to break some very serious news to her, followed by the event which portrays the first encounter between Tobias and Almut.

What is We Live in Time about?
We Live in Time is an offbeat romantic comedy film directed by John Crowley (known for directing Brooklyn and The Goldfinch). Florence Pugh's character Almut is a rising chef who falls in love with Andrew Garfield's Tobias after a chance encounter.
The official synopsis of the film reads:
"Almut (Florence Pugh) and Tobias (Andrew Garfield) are brought together in a surprise encounter that changes their lives. Through snapshots of their life together — falling for each other, building a home, becoming a family — a difficult truth is revealed that rocks its foundation. As they embark on a path challenged by the limits of time, they learn to cherish each moment of the unconventional route their love story has taken, in filmmaker John Crowley’s decade-spanning, deeply moving romance."
The trailer presents a montage of their lives together as they cover important milestones. Pugh's Almut will eventually get inflicted with a terminal disease, making her time with Tobias of immense value.
The pairing between Garfield and Pugh for the film was first announced during the Oscars 2023 Ceremony when the two were presenting the screenplay prizes together. Other members of the cast in the film include Adam James as Simon Maxon, Marama Corlett as Adrienne Duvall, Aoife Hinds as Skye, Nikhil Parmar as Sanjaya, Heather Craney as Buffy Jones, and Kara Lynch in an undisclosed role.
We Live in Time is to premiere at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival before it comes out across theaters. Nick Payne has developed the script. Benedict Cumberbatch is one of the executive producers of the upcoming film through his production banner SunnyMarch.
