Shia LaBeouf is dealing with a legal issue involving FKA Twigs
The Los Angeles, California native has had a long list of legal problems throughout his career and one of them is now going for trial in October this year. LaBeouf was sued by singer and his ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs back in December 2020, accusing him of abuse alongside s*xual battery, physical assault, and emotional distress.
As per the latest updates, FKA Twigs' legal team criticized Shia LaBeouf in June 2024 as he asked for the former's medical history. The attorneys that the details LaBeouf was asking for had nothing to do with the case.
The legal documents claimed that Twigs had already undergone a psychotherapy exam. Notably, Twigs stated in the lawsuit that she allegedly contracted a s*xually transmitted disease because of LaBeouf, according to The New York Times.
Twigs' attorney Bryan Freedman shared a statement with People magazine at the time, saying that his client would have been more successful than she is today if she never had to undergo the trauma she mentioned in the lawsuit.
Although Shia LaBeouf denied the allegations in an email, he stated that Twigs and many other women deserved a chance to speak about their experience and he would accept the blame for the things he considers himself responsible for.
LaBeouf and Twigs were romantically linked between 2018 and 2019, and the latter addressed their separation in an interview with Vogue magazine in March this year and said:
"I think naively I thought it would be like any other break-up, that I'd be sad for six months to a year, and then one day I'd wake up and everything would be fine. But the fact is being abused changes the whole of your nervous system."
Shia LaBeouf was last seen in the science fiction drama film, Megalopolis. He has two films upcoming in his lineup, namely Henry Johnson and Salvable.
