On August 6, 2024, Angelina Jolie's dad, actor Jon Voight posted a video on X, formerly known as Twitter, where he bashed Vice President Kamala Harris while extending support to Donald Trump. In the video with the American national flag in the background, Voight could be heard saying,

"We the people are in trouble if this nation picks Kamala Harris... It's a war crime that Obama is directing and Kamala Harris will be the cackling hyena that just listens and repeats. If we don't stop this horror, you my friends will have the biggest horror that you will not know how to end."

In order to extend support to Republican Party nominee Donald Trump, Jon Voight further mentioned that Trump was the one who would sacrifice everything for the betterment of the country.

Netizens wasted no time in reacting to the tweet of the Midnight Cowboy actor. Here are some of the popular online reactions:

One user wrote:

"Now you understand why Angelia Jolie told people her father was dead for decades. He's creepy and weird. and an a**hole."
"Someone needs to call Angelina Jolie and tell her it's way past time to put him in the puzzle house," added another user.
"Poor Angelina, what an embarrassment," read a tweet.

A number of netizens had, however, extended support to Jon Voight's tweet. One wrote,

"Words of warning and wisdom. Thank you, sir. Your continual encouragement and guidance are a comfort."
"God bless you, patriot. 🫡🇺🇸," read one tweet.
"Thank you @jonvoight! A true American Legend," commented a user.

Jon Voight is one of the most vocal supporters of Donald Trump in Hollywood

As mentioned, in the recent tweet, Voight had called out and criticized Kamala Harris and Joe Biden. He had further mentioned that the "left" was trying to snatch children and turn them into "non-binary." For the unversed, non-binary is the term used by people whose gender identity is neither exclusively male nor female.

He further continued:

"You all on the left, the ones who are my peers that preach—you all know who you are—what have you all learned in this life? Have you learned the lessons that will bring you to the higher place of eternity."

He then concluded the video by saying:

"God bless America and he will protect our nation against this evil left and Donald Trump will make America great again. Much love to him. Much love."

Jon Voight had further called out his own daughter Angelina Jolie, and claimed that she had been "influenced by antisemitic people." The Independent reported Voight's statement, where he said,

"Angie has a connection to the UN, and she’s enjoyed speaking out for refugees. But these people are not refugees."

In June 2022, Jon Voight had called for Joe Biden's impeachment. He claimed that Biden had violated the country's glory. The actor had repeatedly taken to X, formerly known as Twitter to express his right-leaning views to the entire world. His political inclination, however, could be a little shocking given the type of work he had done in his entire filmography.

In Midnight Cowboy, Voight played the role of a gay hustler. In Coming Home, he played the character of a man who had gotten married to a character played by Jane Fonda, who had been the most popular left-leaning actor in Hollywood. The actor is one of the many actors who has been offering support to Donald Trump, the Republican nominee, for the upcoming Presidential elections to be held in November 2024.
