Armie Hammer recently opened up on being "canceled" from Hollywood following s*xual misconduct, physical assault, and cannibalism allegations in 2021. He called his experience "incredibly liberating."
The Call Me By Your Name star made a rare appearance on the Monday episode of Bill Maher's Club Random and talked about his fall from grace. Discussing about being pulled from several films and TV projects after allegations that he physically and s*xually abused his former girlfriend, he said:
"It was pretty great. It's incredibly liberating because so much of my life leading up to there was being preoccupied with how I was perceived, which now you don't have to care about."

Hammer admitted that being a Hollywood pariah at the time freed him from others' expectations and thinking about how people perceived him. He added:
"Once everyone just decides that they hate you, you go, 'Oh well, then I don't need anything from you people anyway. I guess I should just learn to be content with myself.'"
The Lone Ranger actor stated that it was exactly what he did following his exile from Hollywood, adding that "it feels f**king amazing." At one point, podcast host Maher asked Armie Hammer if he considered the allegations made against him a "blessing in disguise," he replied, "1,000,000%, yeah."
Armie Hammer believes that he's saved from a lifestyle that would "ultimately lead to death"
Despite admitting to being "broke" after getting canceled from Hollywood three years ago, Armie Hammer said that he's "never been happier." He revealed that his own family refused to offer monetary help.
His downfall, he said, might have changed his lifestyle financially but it also saved him from a life he knew would lead to one place—death. He told Maher in the podcast:
"I know that that would ultimately lead in one place, and that's death."
Reflecting on his previous "real fast" life, Armie Hammer stated:
"I was making a lot of money. I was drinking a lot. I was doing a lot of drugs. I was partying hard. I was being real fast and loose about what I put in text messages. And I was also engaging in risky behavior that, if you really think about it, was stupid."

He compared his former lifestyle to Newton's law that would "remain in motion" unless something from an outside force intervenes. Hammer further noted that he experienced a lot in 2021 - "ego death, a career death, financial death." But on a hopeful note, the actor said that:
"once you die, you can be reborn."
Elsewhere in the podcast, Armie Hammer noted that since he stepped away from the spotlight, he's lived a more peaceful life. His morning routine now includes meditation to help him "connect with nature" instead of being chronically online.
