Ryan Reynolds recently posted on Instagram, paying tribute to his co-star, Rob Delaney’s son. He stated how he dedicated the newly released movie, Deadpool & Wolverine to Henry. Regretting how he could not add the tribute in Deadpool 2, which was released shortly after Rob Delaney lost his son to brain tumor, Ryan Reynolds stated in his post:

“If you stayed through the credits of Deadpool & Wolverine, you might notice a credit saying, ‘For Henry Delaney.’ Henry was Rob’s son. And Rob lost his little boy to a brain tumor in 2018. Right as we finished Deadpool 2. I’ve always kicked my own a*s because I didn’t place a tribute to Henry over the end credits of DP2.”

Ryan continued:

“If there’s a bright side, even more people are seeing Henry’s name in the credits of Deadpool & Wolverine. And at long last, father and son are sharing the same screen.”

With the emotional caption, Ryan Reynolds also added several of his pictures with Rob Delaney, along with a picture of the book, A Heart That Works, written by Rob. In his post, Ryan Reynolds also stated how, according to him, the book “is an incredible piece of writing.”

As per Entertainment Weekly, Henry, Rob’s son passed away in 2018, when he was just two years old. He was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2016. He had also undergone surgery to remove the tumour in 2017. However, the cancer came back in 2018, and the 2-year-old passed away on Delaney’s birthday in January, that very year.

After Delaney’s son passed away in 2018, he wrote a book, A Heart That Works, dedicated to his son. The book talks about Henry, who passed away due to a brain tumour, and focused on the parent’s plight after the incident took place. Awarded the New York Times Bestseller, the book was released in 2022 and gives an insight into the emotions of the parents suffering from child loss.

Rob Delaney once spoke about the book, when he made an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in 2022 and stated:

“I chose to write A Heart That Works as a way to bridge that gap between something that many people would, rightfully, consider unimaginable and Regular Joes just walking down the street, whistling, not knowing what that stuff is like.”

Apart from starring in Deadpool 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine with Ryan Reynolds, the actor has also been seen in Rocketman, Tom & Jerry, The Good House, Ron’s Gone Wrong, The Bubble, Wrath of Man, among other movies.
