The 42-year-old actor spoke candidly about her relationship with Majors when she appeared on TODAY with Hoda & Jenna on July 9 to talk about her work in Tyler Perry's Divorce in the Black.
Talking about the same, she also said that-
“The support we’ve been able to give to each other, the pouring into each other, the honest conversations, the love, the respect, just the care, and the thoughtfulness, it’s been really wonderful.”
The video and Meagan’s interview came after more than a year of Majors facing convictions. The Manhattan District Attorney's office announced on March 25, 2023, that Jonathan Majors had been charged and taken into custody on-
"Several counts of assault in the third degree, three counts of attempted assault in the third degree, one count of aggravated harassment in the second degree, and one count of harassment in the second degree."
After a violent altercation, Jonathan Majors was accused of strangling his then-girlfriend in a New York taxi. Several sources reported that according to investigators, she had "minor injuries to her head and neck" when she was brought to the hospital.
Eventually, a judge's decision to place Majors on probation stopped him from going to jail. In addition, he had to complete a 52-week in-person treatment program recognized by the probation department of Los Angeles County, as well as pay a $250 fine.
