Curious about people talking about Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s feud, Hollywood superstar Tom Hanks turned to his son, Chet, to get details of the dispute between the two rappers.
On Monday, May 20, Chet Hanks took to his Instagram Story to share a series of screenshots of a recent conversation between himself and his father who needed a quick crash course over the rappers’ lyrical battle.
In the first screenshot of their text messages, Tom Hanks, saved in Chet’s phone book as “Pops” kicked things off by asking his son to explain the Drake-Kendrick Lamar feud. He wrote:
“Big Main, can you explain the Drake/Kendrick Lamar feud to me?”
Chet then gave the Sully actor the play-by-play of the increasingly dramatic rap beef.
“Who’s winning?” — Tom Hanks is curious about Kendrick Lamar and Drake's beef
Recounting the origins of the conflict between the two rappers, Chet Hanks gave his father the lowdown on what’s been going on in the rap scene.
He replied to his father, saying:
“Yeah, so Drake and this other dude J Cole been saying they along with Kendrick put out a song saying “F**k the Big 3, it’s just big ME” initiating the beef.”"

He schooled Tom Hanks over the lyrical jabs that the two rappers have been throwing at each other. He continued:
“Then Drake was like, “you got small feet cuz you’re like 5 foot 5 or whatever.” And then Kendrick was like, you’re a dead beat dad and made fun of his Canadian accent. So Drake came back as was like, “oh yeah? Well I heard you beat your wife.””
Chet Hanks further recounted to his father that “literally 30 seconds later,” Kendrick Lamar released a diss track overshadowing Drake’s, that “methodically dismantled Drake’s entire psyche.” Chet also pointed out that Lamar called Drake a p*dophile for “flirting with young girls” while also claiming that Drake had a kid that he’s “hiding from the world.”

Chet also gave Tom Hanks the details of Drake’s comeback following Kendrick Lamar’s diss. He wrote:
“[And] Drake cake back and was like, “hahaha I gotcho a** I had people give you false info to make you look stupid.”
He went on to tell Tom Hanks about Kendrick Lamar’s another “Coast banger” which he called a “sonic equivalent” to when Tom Hanks took him to a basketball game in Oakland where “everyone went nuts.”

Ending his recount of the Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef with a description of the latter’s final diss, Not Like Us, Chet Hanks mentioned to his father:
“Like if you heard it you would just automatically know how to Crip walk with a stank face while clutching an Oscar in each hand with Marshawn Lynch, then dap him up and tell him “Town Bidness” which solidified then win not only for Kendrick but the entire West Coast.”
Understandably, the info dump was a bit much for Tom Hanks and he didn't quite seem to fully absorb everything his son told him as he replied:
“Holy cow! These are fighting words. People taking sides?? Who’s winning?”
In his block of text, the younger Hanks had already deemed Lamar the winner and he jokingly asked Tom Hanks whether he’d actually read everything he wrote.
