Christina Applegate reveals the "only plastic surgery" she ever had at 27 after "famous" producer criticized her looks.
In the July 30 episode of her and Jamie-Lynn Sigler's MeSsy podcast, Christina Applegate revealed a producer pointed out the bags under her eyes. She said,
"At 27 years old, I was on a show and one of the producers - (a) very famous (person) who did a very famous show as well - said, 'Hey we're having a lot of trouble lighting under your eyes. The bags under your eyes are so big."
When Applegate pointed out that under-eye bags are a "hereditary thing," she recalled the producer responding by saying,
"I suggest you get them removed."
Christina Applegate also added it was when "people just plant...seeds into your head" and the producer's comment caused her to feel shame. She felt like she couldn't push back.
"And you know what I did? At 27 years old, I had the only plastic surgery I've ever had was to remove the bags under my eyes."
Christina did not reveal the identity of the producer.

Christina Applegate has been making appearances on television since 1972 when she first starred alongside her mother in Days of Our Lives. Throughout her career, she has done well-known movies like Dead to Me, and Vacation. She also appeared on the sitcom Friends.
In the recent podcast, the two actresses shared their stories of being criticized for their appearance by TV executives. Jamie recalled a time when an editor said her way of walking "didn't look right," to which Applegate responded,
"Then they need to f****ng film us differently. That's the thing."'
Christina also added that their discussing details on the ways actresses are treated on sets could cause problems for her career.
The actress had taken a break from acting in 2021 after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and in the recent podcast talked about how the industry could treat her if there was a possibility of her getting back to acting. The actress has been vocal about having MS and her battle with the autoimmune disease.
During an episode of Good Morning America in March, Christina mentioned she "probably" had MS for "six or seven years" before her official diagnosis in June 2021.
"We talk about a lot about fear of going back to work and, you know, and I'm having like, this idea of, like, I might want to. And now I'm like, 'Oh s***, we're being so honest about this. Are they gonna think that I'm not gonna be able to do it?"
In an interview with Hello! Magazine in December 2023, Christina Applegate talked about the struggles she faced while filming Dead to Me with MS. Applegate mentioned,
"How can I go onto a set and call the shots of what I need as far as my boundaries, physically?"
Applegate also revealed she's sticking to exciting upcoming voice-over projects. The actress had previously voiced the character of Brittany, one of the Chipettes in the Alvin and the Chipmunks series. Currently, she runs a podcast with her friend and actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler called MeSsy, where the two discuss parenting, health, and other related topics.
