The third installment in the Deadpool franchise, Deadpool & Wolverine had its world premiere on July 22, 2024. Directed by Shawn Levy, Deadpool & Wolverine is all set to release on the big screens on July 26, 2024.

The film stars Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, the titular superheroes finally making their way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Disney acquired Fox in March 2019.

Before the release, multiple cameos of various Marvel superheroes and supervillains, who are also speculated to feature in the film, have been surfacing on the internet. Being the only MCU release of 2024, Marvel has tried its best to hide such leaks so far.

Wendy Jacobson, executive producer of Deadpool & Wolverine, told several media houses that they may have added shots that are not in the movie, to keep the hype from going down. Concerning the speculations around the film and the leaks, she told GamesRadar+ in an interview that the leaks may be surfacing online:

"...in order to protect the secrecy."

"Not everything you've read online is true" - Wendy Jacobson on Deadpool & Wolverine fake leaks

Wendy Jacobson recently revealed how there may be shots in the trailer that reviewers and people on the internet have speculated as cameos, that may not be in the film. Jacobson and other producers often provide these statements not only to prevent leaks but also to manage fan expectations.

"There may or may not have been some subterfuge and misdirections on the internet or in-person in order to protect the secrecy. In short, and as ever, not everything you've read online is true," she said.

She continued:

"I can neither confirm nor deny any cameos in this film but I will say, in terms of characters that may or may not appear, it was always important to us that nothing in this movie feels like a gimmick. Anyone showing up has a crucial story purpose or a beginning, middle, and end as a character arc..."

Marvel is famous for their notorious ability to remove cameos and prevent leaks as we have previously seen in trailers of movies like Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Captain America: Civil War (2016).

Deadpool & Wolverine is set to be the movie that saves the MCU, as also seen in the trailer, with how Deadpool calls himself the Marvel Jesus. As per the early reviews from the world premiere, all cameos are hand-picked and curated by Shawn Levy and Ryan Renolds to support the main story of the movie.

From the early breakdowns by eagle-eyed reviewers, we can expect cameos like Jennifer Garner's Elektra, Ben Affleck's Daredevil, Fox X-Men characters, Dafne Keen X-23 from Logan (Already shown in the trailer), Blake Lively as Lady Deadpool, Wolverine Variant played by Henry Cavill, and Edward Norton Hulk among other big speculated cameos.

Director Shawn Levy also talked about the importance of cameos in the film and said to several media houses:

“When you have an unlimited database of available weaponry, it's exciting, and it's overwhelming. You need some discipline. You need to only integrate things or characters that serve this story. And that’s why we don't call them cameos. They're more surprises – they’re characters that are surprising.”

It is anticipated that Deadpool & Wolverine will bring in approximately $320 million on its opening weekend at the box office. To date, despite multiple rumors surfacing online, Marvel has done a great job of hiding any leaks that might kill the hype or affect its growing numbers.

Deadpool & Wolverine is all set to arrive in theatres on July 26, 2024.
