American actress Demi Moore has provided an update on Bruce Willis' health amidst his ongoing battle with frontotemporal dementia. During her appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show on Friday, September 13, 2024, the actress spoke about Willis' current condition, offering a hopeful glimpse into his life.

Moore, who was married to Willis from 1987 to 2000, has remained close to her ex-husband, especially after his health deteriorated.

"When we did Charlie’s Angels, Bruce came and played on it and he opens up the film, and we got to work with him," host Drew Barrymore recalled during their conversation.

Demi Moore also mentioned how she's known Willis since his days as a bartender at Café Central. When asked about Willis' current state, Moore responded:

"Given the givens, he’s in a stable place."

Bruce Willis and Demi Moore got married in 1987, and they share three daughters, Rumer, Tallulah, and Scout Willis. While discussing her family with Barrymore, Moore shared some advice she gives her daughters about their father's condition.

"What I say to my kids is you meet them where they’re at. You don’t hold on to who they were or what you want them to be, but who they are in this moment," she explained, noting that there is beauty in accepting the present.

She also stressed the need to spend time as a family.

"When I’m in L.A., I go over every week and I really treasure the time that we all share," Moore added.

In 2022, Willis' family stated that the Die Hard actor had aphasia, a condition that impacts a person's capacity to speak. A year later, in February, it was reported that his state had degenerated to frontotemporal dementia, a neurocognitive disorder that affects the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain.

Frontotemporal dementia, formerly known as pick dementia, is a type of dementia that affects the frontotemporal regions of the brain, which are in charge of behavior, judgment, and speech. These may comprise altered behavior, mood swings, speech problems, and issues with coordination.

As stated by the National Institute on Aging, patients suffering from FTD may have difficulty performing activities of daily living and communicating correctly. Thus, the condition can prove to be very devastating to the patient as well as their families.

In May 2023, Bruce and Demi's eldest child, Rumer Willis, also spoke about her father's condition while confirming that he was "doing okay." Rumer also thanked fans for their support, noting that Bruce and Demi Moore's openness about his illness helped many people who faced the same issue.

Demi Moore's revelation about Willis' health on The Drew Barrymore Show was not the first time she had discussed it. Demi Moore expressed the same opinion earlier this year when she appeared as a guest on the show hosted by Andy Cohen and gave advice on dealing with a family member with dementia.

"When you let go of who they’ve been or who you think they [should be], or who even you would like them to be, you can then really stay in the present and take in the joy and the love that is present and there for all that they are," Moore said on Radio Andy.

Demi Moore's bond with Willis's family is evident to this day, as she continues to support her ex-husband and his current wife, Emma Heming Willis. The two women have worked together to ensure Willis remains surrounded by love and care.
