Recently, a video clip from the set of Brad Pitt's upcoming film F1 went viral where he could be seen falling down on a mattress. The event occurred on Saturday, November 23, on the Las Vegas Grand Prix track. In the scene, Pitt's character, Sonny Hayes, had just avoided a collision.
According to the Daily Mail's November 23 report, Pitt (his character) staggered off the scene and seemed to pass out. He appeared unstable on his feet before fainting, but fortunately, a crew member with a crash mat was there to prevent injury.
According to the same report by Daily Mail, Hayes' fictional racing team, APX GP, posted a statement on social media to generate excitement for the movie. It said:
“During Qualifying, Sonny sustained a significant impact requiring immediate medical evaluation. Incidents of this magnitude are always taken seriously, and Sonny’s health remains our top priority. While Sonny is otherwise stable, he will not participate in tomorrow’s race as he focuses on recovery.”
It concluded:
“The entire team stands behind him, and we’ll provide updates when available. Joshua will race solo tomorrow, carrying the team forward.”
Hence, it is safe to say that the actor did not injure himself while filming. His falling down was a part of the movie sequence.
Brad Pitt is all set for his new film, F1
A recent viral video shows Brad Pitt falling to the ground on Saturday in front of the camera and on the F1 racecourse's asphalt while filming a sequence for his next Formula One film. Brad Pitt was seen stumbling away from the scene of a race crash while wearing a professional racing outfit.
The 60-year-old and the film crew filmed the sequence in front of a real F1 backdrop during the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix, giving race attendees a preview of the film. Joseph Kosinski, who also directed Tom Cruise's Top Gun: Maverick, is directing the much-awaited film.
While talking about the movie in 2023, Brad Pitt stated in an interview with Sky Sports:
"I would be a guy who raced in the '90s. He has a horrible crash and kind of [expletive] out and disappears and then is racing in other disciplines."
In order to capture scenes and make the picture as realistic as possible, the actors and the crew have been going to race days for the past year. Talking further about the movie, in an interview with Deadline on July 7, the director said:
"We're shooting at the actual Grands Prix; there are certain aspects of this film where we're working in very, very tight windows, shooting on the track, between practice and qualifying sessions, in front of hundreds of thousands of people.”
