Recently, American comedian and actor Chris Rock opened up about the murder of the UnitedHealthcare CEO and his alleged killer, Luigi Mangione. In the December 14 episode of Saturday Night Live, during his monologue, Rock said:
“We got Luigi, you know, and that's good.... I really feel sorry for the family. I mean, everybody's fixated on how good-looking this guy looks… But he actually killed a man...”
He also spoke candidly about the murder of Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare:
“I have condolences. I don't have real condolences for, you know, the healthcare CEO. I mean, this is a real person, you know? But you also got to go. You know, sometimes drug dealers get shot…”
This happened after Mangione was charged with shooting Thompson on December 4 in Manhattan. After an Altoona McDonald's employee reportedly recognized his face, the authorities were notified, and he was taken into custody.
Chris Rock targeted many famous personalities during his recent Saturday Night Live performance
In his opening monologue for the December 14 episode of Saturday Night Live, Chris Rock joked about several current events. He initially congratulated the program creators on reaching their 50-year milestone at the beginning of his speech.
Then taking a seemingly subtle jab at Diddy, he said that the security was so tight that he had to walk by a “bunch of baby oil sniffing dogs.” His brief stand-up routine also targeted boxer Jake Paul and his fight with Mike Tyson in the boxing ring, which was recently live-streamed on Netflix.
Addressing the same, he said:
“What is this, Jake Paul? The 27-year-old punched a 60-year-old man in the bank. Is this what the white man has reduced hips up to? Who's he going to fight next? Morgan Freeman? I hate Jake Paul... I hate him like cocaine hates monogamy..."
Amid the monologue, Chris Rock also made fun of Elon Musk, Donald Trump, and Bill Clinton. His other remarks focused on Trump's "good year," pointing out that he "won the presidency again" and "survived an assassination attempt" prior to being named Time's "Person of the Year."
Stating the same, he said:
“Trump had a good year, man... You know, a lot of people are scared… And.. I'm talking about the nine New Yorkers that didn't vote for him… People are like, he's going to be so undignified, it's the presidency of the United States… This is not the most dignified job in the world.”
Chris Rock further claimed that some of the presidents were alleged "r*pists":
“You know, we've had presidents show up to the inauguration with pregnant slaves.. And I'm just talking about Bill Clinton… You know what country we live in?.. You know how many r*pists are in my wallet right now? I'm trying to cover coffee in America called seven r*pists. Trump's going to get it down to three...”
He then also seemingly took a jab at Trump's relationship with Elon Musk:
“[Trump's] working with the number one African-American in the world... Elon got more kids than the Cleveland Browns… Nobody knows how to get rid of people like a South African..."
On the other hand, on the same SNL show, actor Adam Sandler made an unexpected appearance. In a five-minute hospital sketch, called the Gallbladder Surgery, Sandler burst out laughing several times.
During the same sketch, Sandler played an under-anesthetized patient who was still waiting for his appendix to be removed after a botched gallbladder procedure. Sarah Sherman played a youthful, emotional, and inept nurse, whose errors caused the operation to fail miserably, and Chris Rock played a surgeon.
Sherman appeared to be the wild card in this whole skit, but she took a backseat approximately halfway through the act as the patient stood up and revealed himself to be Sandler.
Prior to this recent episode, Chris Rock presented the sketch comedy series in 2020, 2014, and 1996. From 1990 until 1993, Rock was also a cast member.
