Father of the Bride actress and wife of Brad Paisley, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, is happy about the success of a recent vocal cord surgery, revealing that it returned her voice after two years.

The actress shared a carousel of photos on Instagram on Saturday, August 17, sharing that she's "been going through a thing." Alongside a carousel of photos, including a "trigger warning," Williams-Paisley revealed that she lost her voice while on stage during her Alzheimer's event in Nashville, adding:

"It was embarrassing & scary & it never quite came back. It's been a challenging couple of years, but we finally got to the bottom of it."

Kimberly Williams-Paisley mentioned that she had damage to her laryngeal nerve, which she had tried to heal. Earlier in the week, she had surgery at Vanderbilt Health, and thankfully, she said that her voice is sounding "so much better" after the laryngosplasty.

The operation took about three hours, and the Hallmark movie actress said that she was awake for the entire thing. She mentioned watching the process via a video screen perched above her head and was amazed by it all, saying:

"MODERN MEDICINE IS MIRACULOUS."

Kimberly Williams-Paisley says she kept her vocal cord problem hushed because she felt "vulnerable" about it

In her latest Instagram post, Kimberly Williams-Paisley also revealed that she didn't want to share the problem with her voice until now "because it felt too vulnerable." She admitted to taking her voice for granted previously, whether it was for her career, speaking out for a good cause, making a joke, or simply for self-expression.

According to Williams-Paisley, she's been "the quietest in the room" and admitted to feeling "meek" that other people would mistake her for being shy or reserved. But, she said that she's "found power in using [her] voice in new ways."

Besides healing old emotional wounds, the actress shared that she also learned about the "strength and beauty of silence" in the past couple of years.

She also came out of her vocal cord struggles a "serious meditator," and she can now deadlift "over a hundred pounds." Part of the entire process was also about her taking better care of her body, and now, Kimberly Williams-Paisley admitted that she's "feeling more whole, empowered, and joyful."

The Hallmark star also gave a shoutout to one of the things she learned while listening to Kate Bowler's podcast—"if you're going through hell, don't come out empty-handed." While Kimberly Williams-Paisley doesn't "exactly" think that losing her voice was worth it, she said it was not a worthless experience.

The actress also shared a picture of herself post-operation, highlighting the "badass scar that's smiling at me across my neck." Meanwhile, her husband took to the comment section to support the actress, saying that it will be a "great new chapter" before joking that he will also "miss the silence."
