Although Giancarlo Esposito is playing a villain in Captain America: Brave New World, further details about his role are being kept under wraps. Esposito recently attended a convention where he said,

"The character I'm playing is a badass. That always excites me. For me to develop that character in line with the character's inception is a fascinating art for me. I had an incredible time shooting it. I'm not telling you who I'm playing...people are trying to guess and no one has guessed correctly yet."

Rather than G.W. Bridge, as many theories suggest, this character is something different, says the actor. If rumors about his involvement added during reshoots are true, many fans think he is replacing the Serpent Society as a secondary villain in Sam Wilson's first outing as Captain America.

While Tim Blake Nelson has been confirmed to be portraying Samuel Sterns (the Leader) and Harrison Ford’s Thaddeus Ross could be Red Hulk, there is no telling who could become another major antagonist or even an important person linking up various narrative strands for Esposito’s character.

Captain America: Brave New World is the fourth film in the MCU Captain America movies and the first since Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers retired in Avengers: Endgame. Now Falcon played by Anthony Mackie has become Captain America.

The official plot summary reads:

“Anthony Mackie returns as high-flying hero Sam Wilson that officially took up the mantle of Captain America,” which leads him to meet new US President Thaddeus Ross.” Sam becomes embroiled in an international crisis following his interaction with recently elected President Thaddeus Ross.” He must discover why there exists a global conspiracy before it gets bloodier.”
