Matthew Perry was found lying unconscious in his jacuzzi in October 2023
Months after Perry’s passing away, the cause of his demise still continues to be in the news. Many publications like People Magazine have reported that an insider working in law enforcement has revealed that the authorities can charge multiple people for his death. While more details have not been shared, the insider stated that it is in the hands of the authorities whether to charge the people or not.
Matthew Perry was found by his assistant lying unconscious in the jacuzzi, just when the Los Angeles Police Department was called to his house. At the time, the authorities claimed that as soon as they reached Perry’s apartment, they discovered a middle-aged man in his 50s in an unresponsive state.
Upon questioning, Matthew Perry’s assistant revealed that he had just been back after an intense two-hour pickleball game. The actor had requested his assistant to run an errand for him which took them another two hours to be back.
People Magazine reported that the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner closed their investigation in December 2023, and disclosed the many reasons for Matthew Perry's death. The publication also stated that Perry was also undergoing ketamine infusion therapy at the time. Moreover, he also opened up about the use of ketamine in his 2022 memoir, Friends, Lover and the Big Terrible Thing.
In his memoir, Matthew Perry stated that he “did not enjoy” using it, as it felt like a “giant exhale.” He stated:
“Ketamine was a very popular street drug in the 1980s. There is a synthetic form of it now, and it's used for two reasons: to ease pain and help with depression. The drug has my name written all over it, they might as well have called it 'Matty’.”
The recent news about the law enforcement still probing into Perry’s death continues to garner reactions from the masses on the internet. However, nothing has yet been declared or announced by the authorities investigating the case.
