How old is Emma Roberts's son? Actress talks about the joys of supporting her child through her work

Emma Roberts is grateful for being able to financially support her son on her own as the American Horror Story star has been working since she was a young kid. In her latest appearance on the iHeart podcast Table for Two, the actress spoke with Bruce Bozzi about her relationship with her son, having "mom guilt," and the "freeing" feeling she has for her ability to provide for her son.

Roberts said:

"It's nice now that I have been working so long, I can support myself and I can help out other people. And also with my son, to just know that I can always support him on my own is a very freeing thing that I know is a huge privilege."

Emma Roberts has a son named Rhodes, who is now three years old. The Madame Web actress gave birth to her son, whom she shares with her ex, Garrett Hedlund, in December 2020.

The actress also talked about the privilege she and her mother had, who, unlike many women who had to be single mothers, were able to support themselves and their families. Roberts said:

"I'm so lucky that she could be a single, full-time mom and not have to leave me at a daycare, and she could spend all her time with me."

Emma Roberts says she struggles with "mom guilt" because of work

While the Scream Queen actress feels empowered for being able to support her son independently through her work, there is a flip side to the story. Emma Roberts also shared in the podcast about her struggles with "mom guilt" because of her work commitments.

She mentioned:

"I have such a mom guilt. I'm away from my son—[I'm] always working for 12 hours a day and then on the weekend, I'm so tired, and I feel like I'm not being my best self."

Despite feeling guilty for working long hours, the actress said that her son would always know that she "works really hard" to be able to support him.

Meanwhile, when she's off work, Emma Roberts spends much of her time creating memories with her three-year-old son. In April, the duo spent a day at Disneyland, which she shared a photo of on her Instagram account.

The actress also shared in the podcast why she brought her young son to the famed theme park, despite some people saying he's still too young to remember any of it.

"I was like, 'You know what, I want to do something special with him that I've been working a lot. I want to do it with him,' so whatever, so we went. He had the best time ever, and like, a week later, he just worked up and in his crib. When I picked him up, he goes, 'I want to go to Disney.'"

The actress noted that she was happy to be the one to take her son to the theme park and that she got to share those memories with him.

Emma Roberts further mentioned that it was a core memory of her son, something that he keeps bringing up, which had given her "confidence to do more stuff like that" with her son.
