"I was like boom!"— Norman Reedus talks about meeting his "dream guest" Cher at The Bikeriders premiere

Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon actor Norman Reedus, appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on June 18. He recalled the moment when he met Cher at his new film, The Bikeriders' premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatre in L.A.

"There's so many episodes of Ride where they say, 'Who's your dream guest? And I say, 'Cher', I've said it like, 85 times. And then she showed up last night and I'm sitting there, I have my arm around Austin (Butler) and Jodie (Comer), and I'm like, 'Oh my God, that's Cher.' I was like, 'Look, look, that's Cher," he said.

Reedus went on to explain that when he asked Jodie if he should go over to Cher, she said no, but he ran towards the star regardless. When Jimmy Kimmel asked why Jodie said no, Reedus added,

"I attacked her like Halloween candy. I was like, boom! I think I was like, Oh my God, I'm a big fan."

In the interview, Reedus also mentioned Cher was with her boyfriend and called him "nice."

The recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel isn't the first time Norman Reedus has expressed his admiration for Cher. In 2020, while talking to Newsweek, when asked who his dream guest on his show Ride with Norman Reedus is, Reedus mentioned Cher,

"I want Cher. I always had a crush on Cher. She's just badass. I like her whole vibe. Always have."

Earlier while speaking to CNET in 2017, Reedus mentioned he had tried to get the singer to his show,

"I tried to get Cher on Ride. That would be awesome. So somebody like Cher or maybe like Marianne Faithfull. We'd both wear one-piece leather outfits with fur on the inside, like that movie, 'The Girl on a Motorcycle.' That'd be fun."

In the recent interview, Reedus also mentioned that his love for Cher stemmed from his childhood, and that his sister had a Cher doll.

"She had the long hair and she was always singing on the talk shows and stuff. And my sister had a Cher doll."

Norman Reedus, The Bikeriders is all set to the cinemas on June 21. Apart from Cher, many other stars were also in attendance at the film premiere including, Reedus's friend and co-star Clifton Collins Jr, Tom Payne and wife Jennifer Akerman, Jason Momoa and daughter Lola lolani Momoa, who arrived on Jason's motorcycle. Cassady McClincy was also present at the star-studded event.
