Tony McFarr, who gained recognition as a stunt double for Chris Pratt, unexpectedly passed away on May 13, 2024, at the age of 47. The cause of death has not been confirmed by his family until now and he was at his residence outside Orlando, as revealed by Tony's mother, Donna.
Pratt even took to his Instagram Story to express his grief over McFarr's demise, where he wrote that he was "devastated to hear" the news. He added:
"We did several movies together. We golfed, drank whiskey, smoked cigars, and spent endless hours on set. I'll never forget his toughness. I remember he took a nasty shot to the head (in the title sequence of Guardians 2) and got several staples in his head – he came right back to work ready to go again."
Pratt described McFarr as a "stud," stating that he was a professional and would be missed by everyone, including his friends and family members. Apart from Guardians of the Galaxy, Tony McFarr also worked as a stunt double for Chris Pratt on Jurassic World and Passengers.
Tony is survived by his parents, along with a sister and a daughter. A celebration of life is reportedly being organized by the family sometime in the upcoming weeks and he will be buried in Pennsylvania alongside his grandmother.

Tony McFarr spent most of his childhood at Merritt Island and later enrolled at the Divine Mercy Catholic School. Further details related to his early life and educational background have not been revealed anywhere.
The Independent states that Tony started his career on television with the drama series, Burn Notice. This was followed by more TV shows, including One Tree Hill. While he initially worked as an actor, he later shifted his focus towards stunts and was hired for other popular projects.
He had many titles in his credits, such as The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, Pitch Perfect 3, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and more. He first worked as a stunt double for Chris Pratt in Jurassic World, which was the fourth instalment in the Jurassic Park franchise. Tony McFarr continued appearing as a stunt double for Pratt in many other projects over the years. The Zero Dark Thirty star even shared a few Instagram posts on a few occasions, featuring glimpses from the set. He even introduced McFarr in one of them and wrote:

His LinkedIn page stated that since 2013, he has been the owner of two restaurant companies, The Fit Kitchen and Reel Bowls. The bio says that he knew everything about how to operate a restaurant. It further stated that he was active in the entertainment industry for around 20 years.
