Sally Field recalled to Vanity Fair on Monday, August 5, 2024, about Robin Williams making special arrangements for her to leave the Mrs. Doubtfire set after learning that her father died while they were still filming the movie, making fans emotional with the touching memory of the late actor.

The actress told the publication that when she learned about her father's passing, she didn't want to disrupt the production, but Williams stepped up to help her. Sally Field said:

"I was in the camper outside of the courtroom where we were shooting the divorce scene... I got a phone call from the doctor saying my father had passed—a massive stroke."

Sally Field also remembered Williams pulling her aside on set to ask if she was okay, which prompted her to tell the actor about her father's passing. After learning what happened, Field mentioned that the crew shot around her throughout the day so she could return home.

Sally Field's touching memory about the late actor made rounds online, and many netizens took to remembering the actor's legacy and how much he's missed.

Sally Field and other past collaborators remember Robin Williams

During her interview with Variety to remember the late Robin Williams on the 10-year anniversary of his passing, and after sharing her memory of the actor, Sally Field said:

"It's a side of Robin that people rarely knew: He was very sensitive and intuitive."

Many other past collaborators and costars also shared their fondest memories of Williams in the feature. Christine Baranski, who worked with the actor on The Birdcage, recalled passing Williams in the Julliard halls.

Williams's Night at the Museum costar, Ben Stiller, remembered the actor creepily whispering, "Stay close to your mother. You'll be safe," to him at a comedy club in LA. He added that working with the actor years later was his "childhood dream come true."

Al Pacino, who worked with Robin Williams in Insomnia, chimed in with some words about working with the late Popeye actor, saying:

"I knew him through work only, and he was one of the most thoughtful and pleasant people I have ever met in that context. He is hypersensitive, which is part of his gift, and surprisingly mild-mannered."

The Mrs. Doubtfire actress and others are just four of the more than 20 past collaborators and friends who shared their thoughts and memories of Robin Williams.
