Florence Pugh recently opened up about her desire to "go and find love" and how her new movie, We Live In Time, inspired her new perspective on romance.
She's starring alongside Andrew Garfield in the upcoming film, which John Crowley directs. During her conversation with British Vogue in their September 18 feature, Pugh said that watching We Live In Time makes her want to take an "active part" in making decisions. That may include her love life, adding:
"I was at the right age for this movie to land. I was going through a lot of weird stuff with relationships last year and I think part of the story is to not be passive, is not to let things wash over you. I want to go and find love and I want to have babies."
She said that she's "always been thinking" about possibly starting a family and that she loves the idea of having a big family because she comes from one. Florence Pugh further shared that she loves kids as much as she loves hanging out with them.
She noted that when it comes to dinner parties, she usually finds herself hanging out and chatting with kids.
Florence Pugh talked about "love" and her new relationship
Elsewhere in her British Vogue interview, Florence Pugh admitted that she is currently in a relationship and shared her ideas and values about love. The Father of the Bride actress said that one of the things that resonates with her is that "if magic is real, then it's falling in love."
She also described herself and her approach to love, saying:
"I am someone that loves falling in love. I love looking after people. I love caring for people. I love the feeling of someone being there. I love knowing that someone is thinking about me and someone cares for me in the same way that I'm thinking about caring for them."
While the Midsommar actress didn't name any names, she said that there is someone in her life right now that she and her mystery partner are "figuring out what [they] actually are." She also shared her new approach to relationships.
She said that she's now allowing herself to "go on a roller-coaster" for the first time. The actress added that she's taking the time to "let something evolve and let it be completely real to its core."
Throughout the profile, Pugh also spoke candidly about her previous relationship with Zack Braff, which gained a lot of attention because of their 21-year age difference. She told British Vogue that she had to be public with their relationship in the past "because people were bullying" her and Braff.
Their relationship was private "until it was nasty" and she thought it was her responsibility to speak to and "protect" him and their families. Florence Pugh and Zack Braff dated from 2019 to 2022.
Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield's We Live in Time is set to land on October 11, 2024, in US cinemas.
