English-American actor Andrew Garfield is dating author, podcaster, and spiritual mentor Dr. Kate Tomas. She recently appeared in an interview with The Sunday Times, published on July 21.

During her interview, she candidly discussed her relationship and the “misogynistic” reaction it has received from the public.

“It’s frustrating that no matter how accomplished or impactful a woman is, it’s always going to be more interesting if they are in a relationship with a man. I don’t want to sit under anybody’s shadow,” Kate Tomas noted.

She further criticized accusations that she used magic to “seduce” Andrew Garfield into becoming her boyfriend, adding that “magic takes time” and “it doesn’t happen overnight.”

During her recent interview with The Sunday Times published on Sunday, Andrew Garfield’s girlfriend, Kate Tomas, opened up about the “frustrating” response to their romance.

The Friday Emails podcast host claimed that since she began dating Garfield in early 2024, she has been in the spotlight, with the paparazzi taking “maybe 150 pictures,” and then they “choose the four where you look worst.”

Kate Tomas called out the “misogynistic nature” of interest in her personal life, adding that reporters have been frequenting her neighborhood asking about her personality and whether she is a “good person.” She also claimed their sole focus was to criticize “how a woman looks” and “what [she] does for work.”

The 42-year-old further slammed the “horrific” allegations that she used magic to seduce her partner. She went on to explain:

“Seduction is not about magic spells or manipulation. It has got nothing to do with how perfect their teeth are—thank you, Reddit—or whether they conform to conventional standards of beauty. People that are really attractive are full of charisma because they are authentically themselves and confidently anchored in that.”

Andrew Garfield’s girlfriend, who is two years older than him, also addressed the backlash she faced for her “f*ck politeness” tattoo, stating that she doesn’t care and would continue to reject the idea that women should “please others over their own safety.”

“The most powerful form of psychic protection is knowing who you are and being okay with that,” Tomas mentioned.

For those uninitiated, Andrew Garfield and Dr. Tomas were first romantically linked in early April 2024. They were photographed holding hands during a double dinner date with singer-songwriter Phoebe Bridgers and her boyfriend Bo Burnham at Zinque restaurant in Malibu, California.

Back then, a source close to the couple told US Weekly:

“Things are fairly new between Andrew and Kate, but she’s down to earth and he feels very comfortable with her. Andrew really appreciates the fact that Kate is very different from other women he’s dated. He thinks she has a great sense of humor and she’s easy to talk to.”
