“Inflation Ain’t No Joke” – Fans react to Deadpool & Wolverine’s $50 preorder cost

Deadpool & Wolverine was released in theatres on July 26, 2024, and the film is finally set to hit small screens when it releases on digital platforms on October 1, 2024. The film is set to have a physical release on October 22, 2024, and the first look at the film's Blu-ray, 4K, and steel book covers was revealed online by Disney.

While many will finally be able to own Deadpool & Wolverine physically and be able to watch the film in the comfort of their home, the price tag for the 4K UHD + Blu-ray + Digital version of the film left many disappointed.

A listing on Amazon revealed the price to be $49.99, which was pointed out by X user @Wario64.

"Inflation ain’t no joke," joked one fan on X.

"$50.00? Umm what? For a movie?," questioned another shocked fan.

"Surely the price is wrong and that was meant for the steelbook edition….," said another fan as well.

Another fan tried comparing prices with other Blu-ray releases and found that Deadpool & Wolverine is comparatively more expensive. Others tried questioning whether the $49.99 price tag is even justifiable for the Ryan Reynolds-starrer.

"$50 for a 4K, they usually always cost $30 for normal and $35 for steelbook," said one fan.

"huh? 50 bucks? usually 4Ks are 30 at most...," said a fan with a similar opinion.

"Bruh what is it with movies getting so expensive these days back when I was buying dvds for my PlayStation 2 they costed less," said another disappointed fan.

"For $50 it better come with a free upgrade to the PS5 version," joked another fan.

"£50?? And they wonder why no one buys physical media anymore," said another fan.

"$50!? I'm sorry but this movie was not that good to spend 50 on it," shared another fan.

One can buy Deadpool & Wolverine on physical media when it releases in stores on October 22, 2024. Additionally, fans can view it digitally on VOD when the film is released on October 1, 2024.

What is Deadpool & Wolverine about?

Deadpool & Wolverine is the third Deadpool film that also brings Ryan Reynolds' Merc with a Mouth to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, alongside him, the film also sees the return of Hugh Jackman's Wolverine after the actor previously retired from the role following the release of Logan in 2017.
