With the election season in the United States of America coming to an end with Donald Trump being elected to be the President once again, producer Jon Peter revealed quite a peculiar project he was working on. After having worked on films like Batman, A Star is Born, Superman Returns, and more, Peters revealed that he was developing a film based on the assassination attempt on Trump.

Peter revealed this in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. He also said that he was discussing this project with director Oliver Stone.

"Oliver is an amazing writer, and I’m a good storyteller. … I haven’t pitched it to anybody, [but] Netflix would be a perfect, perfect place," said Peters.

Peters even put on a conspiracy-driven take where he accused current President Joe Biden of staging the assassination of Donald Trump and shared some details about what the possible project could be like.

"They may put a hit on me [because of the Trump assassination project], not in the form of a bullet but in the form of the IRS. … The story begins with Trump as a little boy and Biden as a little boy. And you start to see how Biden was obsessed with Trump, who was always movie-star good-looking and rich," said Peters.

However, The Hollywood Reporter soon reached out to director Oliver Stone for a comment. The director denied that he has been working on any project of this kind and confirmed that he hasn't been working with producer Jon Peters on any other projects as well.

“I am not working on an assassination movie or any other project with Jon Peters," said Stone.

However, it remains a mystery as to why Jon Peters spoke about this project given that its status is unclear.

When did the Donald Trump assassination attempt happen?

The assassination attempt on Donald Trump took place on July 13, 2024. During an open-air campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, a 20-year-old man named Thomas Matthew Crooks tried assassinating the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party. Crooks fired over eight rounds from an AR-15-style rifle from a nearby building aiming at Trump.

However, Donald Trump survived the assassination as the bullet grazed his upper right ear. While he was left wounded, Trump was escorted by Secret Service agents who took him to safety. At the same time, Crooks' bullet killed an audience member present at the rally and injured two other attendees as well.

Following the assassination attempt, the Counter Sniper Team of the Secret Service was able to track Crooks and kill him. This incident also led to the director of the Secret Service, Kimberly Cheatie, stepping down from her position.

While a film based on this assassination attempt isn't currently in development, viewers can check out the Trump biopic called The Apprentice which was released in theatres earlier in October. Directed by Ali Abbasi, the film focuses on the early life of Donald Trump where he is played by actor Sebastian Stan.
