Jason Momoa is rumored to join Supergirl; however, there is no official confirmation about his casting by DC or by Momoa himself to date. The rumor started when DC Film News on X tweeted regarding Momoa's inclusion on July 5, 2024 -

"Jason Momoa is reportedly being eyed for a role in ‘SUPERGIRL: WOMAN OF TOMORROW’"

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is all set to conquer the big screens on June 26, 2026, as announced by DC and Warner Bros. This DC comic release, which is the second film in the DC universe, will be directed by Craig Gillespie and produced collectively by James Gunn and Peter Safran. Ana Nogueira will partake in showrunner duties.

Is Jason Momoa joining the cast of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow?

As we already know, there has been no confirmation about Jason Momoa joining the cast for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. DC Studios has not confirmed the tweet by DC Film News.

However, in 2023, after Gunn teased the character of Lobo for the first time on social media, Momoa told several media houses about a dream project he has in the works, which he had discussed with James Gunn and Safran before.

Although Momoa did not confirm about playing the character of Lobo, he hinted about it and told several media houses-

"There's a lot of cool things that are gonna be coming up. One of my dreams come true is happening under their watch, so stay tuned."

Lobo is a popular, saleable character in the DC comics that Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen created. He is an intergalactic bounty hunter and Czarnia mercenary who first appeared in Omega Men (1983-86) #3.

Jason Momoa's physical attributes and notorious demeanor perfectly align with the DC Comics version of Lobo, making him an excellent choice to play this character.

The film will be based on the 32-page comic run of the same name by Tom King.

The official synopsis of the comic, as per DC Comics, reads -
