Jamie Lee Curtis turns paparazzi photo leaks into a positive spin for Freakier Friday, the sequel of her movie with Lindsay Lohan called Freaky Friday.
After slamming the paparazzi intrusion on their upcoming movie, which recently wrapped production, the actress shared one of the leaked photos on Instagram on Thursday, August 22, to address the sequel's release. She wrote:
"We have tried so hard to keep our story a secret and private until it's time for release but once in a while an image comes out, and it doesn't tell you anything about the story or about what's going on with the characters but it does show the joy and fun that we had making #FREAKIERRIDAY and we know it will be the experience that you will have in the theaters next year."
In the photo, Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan can be seen wearing wetsuits and smiling and hugging each other on the beach.
Underscoring the plans for the sequel, Curtis noted that Freakier Friday will get a theater release, the place she called where "we all go and enjoy a shared experience in the dark while munching popcorn and candy." She also tagged Disney Studious in the caption, as well as her costar Lindsay Lohan, who shared the love with three heart emojis in the comments.
Freakier Friday is a much-awaited reunion of Curtis and Lohan's mother-daughter 2003 comedy Freaky Friday, where Curtis's Tess and Lohan's Anna were forced to live each other's lives after they accidentally switched bodies.
Jamie Lee Curtis previously shared the end of Freakier Friday filming on social media
Before slamming the paparazzi photo leaks and the "intrusion" in their "creative process of filmmaking" on social media, Jamie Lee Curtis celebrated wrapping up the production of the sequel.
Alongside a mirror selfie the actress shared on Instagram, the Borderlands actress wrote in the caption that "It's a WRAP" for #freakierfriday and Disney Studios, adding:
"Mommy was up way effing past her bedtime. No filter. Little sleep. Lots of laughs and a little blood, much sweat and copious tears."
Addressing the Freaky Friday fans, Jamie Lee Curtis mentioned that they made the movie for all the fans and that she can't wait for everyone to see it. The actress also dished about how thrilled she is to have reunited with Lindsay Lohan for the forthcoming movie.
Curtis also gave a special shoutout to their new cast members, whose characters are yet to be revealed, Julia Butters and Sophia Hammons. The actress noted that she's also thrilled to watch "new talents form and expand" under the leadership of their director, Nisha Ganatara.
Lindsay Lohan also celebrated the end of production of their upcoming movie in a separate post featuring the actress riding a bike and giving the camera the biggest smile. Freakier Friday is expected to be released sometime in 2025.
