On May 30, several reports disclosed that the famed Jeremy Renner, who fell prey to a very brutal snowplow accident early last year, is set to join the star-studded cast of Knives Out 3, the third entry in the Daniel Craig-led franchise. The upcoming third installment has already announced several other Hollywood stars like Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, Glenn Close, and Cailee Spaeny.
The title of the third part has been revealed to be Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. It is expected to follow the same pattern as the previous two movies, with Craig's Benoit Blanc leading an investigation against a group of, often wealthy, but always interesting individuals. Renner, Spaeny, Scott, and Close will likely be part of the long suspect list that has made the previous two editions a huge hit.
It also marks Renner's return to mainstream cinema after his deadly accident. Meanwhile, Renner has already returned for the filming of his television series Mayor of Kingstown.
Who is Jeremy Renner?
Jeremy Renner, who will be joining the Knives Out franchise, is no stranger to the franchise culture. In fact, he is one of the primary parts of the biggest film franchise right now and is best known as the bow-and-arrow-wielding Avenger, Hawkeye, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Alongside his long list of movies and shows, which also includes the famed television series, Mayor of Kingstown, Jeremy Renner has also taken part in very interesting projects like Rennervations, a very offbeat show produced with Disney+.
Jeremy Renner became the victim of a vicious accident, where a 14,000-pound PistenBully snowcat nearly crushed him to death while he attempted to get his nephew out of the snow. This caused over 30 broken bones and many injuries spread all over his body.
But the Marvel superhero almost acted like a superhero himself as he pulled himself out of the position and got back on track. In a recent interview, the actor credited his daughter, Ava, for his recovery. He said ET:
"She is everything. She's my life force. I felt such guilt for not wanting to come back 'cause I was OK not coming back to this planet, but I felt so bad because I forgot about my daughter...I forgot about everybody else, but she's my life force, man. It took me away from any pain. I would feel, 'So, all I have to do is get better for her' [because] when you do that, you're not worried about yourself and how you're feeling and how broken you are."
Thankfully, the actor made it alive and well, and before long he started doing press circuits. Now, he has also returned to the filming of his TV show. It will not take long for fans to witness him in the third installment of the Knives Out franchise.
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery promises the most dangerous case for Benoit Blanc yet. More details about the same are expected soon.
