Excitement is bubbling up among mystery and movie buffs alike as Knives Out 3 officially titled Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery inches closer to its release.

The buzz for Knives Out 3 reached a new peak when director Rian Johnson announced the end of filming via an Instagram post on August 17. It features an image of a graveyard with the words "Please be mindful of the graves" written on a paper board.

The caption specifically mentioned that the film has officially wrapped filming, so fans are speculating an early arrival of the movie.

"Aaaaaand that’s a wrap on Wake Up Dead Man. Thank you to the best crew in the world and the most brilliant cast. This shoot was a VERY special experience, I cannot wait to put this thing together and show you all what we’ve got."

Knives Out 3 or Wake Up Dead Man promises another chapter in the Benoit Blanc series with Rian Johnson's recent Instagram post featuring a cryptic graveyard scene. The success of previous films under Netflix has carved a path for this sequel marrying classic detective allure with a modern twist.

The cast of Knives Out 3 is a roundup of Hollywood's finest. Daniel Craig returns as the sharp detective Benoit Blanc, a role he's owned across the series.

New faces like Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, and Daryl McCormack join established names such as Josh O'Connor, Glenn Close, and Mila Kunis. The post with the graveyard possibly hints at an eerie setting this time around, ripe with suspense and surprise.

Knives Out 3 is crucial for Craig because it marks the end of his lucrative deal with Netflix for the Knives Out sequels. The deal has been quite the talk thanks to its hefty $100 million tag, as per Variety's August 2021 report. Netflix also secured the rights to two sequels in 2021 for over $400 Million, as per Deadline March 2021 report.

Meanwhile, Rian Johnson has been vocal about his vision for the Knives Out series since the first film's release in 2019. According to Variety's January 2023 report, he was aiming to craft sequels that echo Agatha Christie's style but with unique titles for each installment.

By early 2023 Johnson was actively writing the third film where he was aiming for a tonal and thematic shift from its predecessors and considering renaming future films to include A Benoit Blanc Mystery in their subtitles.

Filming for Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery kicked off in London on June 10, 2024. Glenn Close faced major health challenges battling COVID-19 and RSV which limited her participation to just two days by mid-June.

Despite these setbacks, the production wrapped efficiently on August 17, 2024, and the recent update has made fans eagerly anticipate the next chapter in Detective Blanc's adventures.

Knives Out 3 is slated to release on Netflix in 2025.
