The Venice Film Festival kicked off on August 28 with the premiere of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. Winona Ryder, Jenna Ortega, Justin Theroux, Willem Dafoe, Michael Keaton, and the rest of the cast appeared at the Red Carpet event to celebrate the release of the sequel to the cult-classic horror comedy.
Reprising her role as the iconic Lydia Deetz is Winona Ryder. The 52-year-old donned a cropped black blazer and a black tulle skirt. Ryder completed her look with a black bow and her hair tied into a big bun.
Jenna Ortega plays the role of Lydia's daughter, Astrid. The Wednesday star was wearing a backless Dior red dress inspired by Winona's character in the original film. She also posed with Winona on the red carpet for a mother-daughter shot.
Michael Keaton and Willem Dafoe twinned at the event. Both sported a dark blue tuxedo with dark colored shirts underneath. Justin Theroux chose a white blazer with a white shirt to complete his look for the evening.
Catherine O'Hara wore a gorgeous Oscar de la Renta gown that was reportedly made in India. The Canadian star's dress had a unique patterned look with floral designs and a leather finish. She accentuated her attire with red lipstick and a glossy black purse.

According to The Telegraph, the film got a three-minute standing ovation from the crowd after its premiere at the Venice Film Festival. The film will release in the United States on September 6, 2024.
