Pharrell Williams released a new single, Double Life, on June 14, 2024, as a part of Despicable Me 4. While Pharrell Williams has been attached to the film franchise ever since its first part was released in 2010, this time, fans and social media users are claiming that the latest track is a diss track targeting Drake.

In the track, Pharrell Williams raps:

"Hey, what are you hiding? What you do when you're gone? Nothing wrong being private. Make sure it ain't wrong. Your life double-sided. Two-faced like coins. What side do I get? What side are you on?"

As many social media users stated that Pharrell Williams was taking a lyrical shot at Drake, they began reacting to it, and some even called it “next level hating.” One netizen said:

“Using a Despicable Me song to diss Drake is next level hating Pharrell the goat.”

Other social media users also commented on an X user, @Kurrco’s post about the same, and reacted to Pharell dissing Drake.

“Dissing Drake on a kids movie soundtrack is crazy,” said one more social media user
“Would LOVE to see Drake try and come at Pharrell,” commented another netizen.

On the other hand, there were also those who said the track isn't targeted towards Drake. A handful of netizens claimed that the song describes Gru, who is a Despicable Me character.

“Lmao stop it, this ain’t got nothing to do with Drake. It literally describe gru,” said one social media user
“I don’t see how this is a Drake diss….it’s way to vague,” commented another internet user
