After his recent spark in popularity following his starring role in The Idea of You, Nicholas Galitzine has reportedly signed up with Amazon MGM for the role of He-Man in the long-awaited Masters of the Universe live-action adaptation. The movie comes as a part of Amazon MGM Studios' deal with Mattel.
Masters of the Universe has been in talks for decades now, with many other actors' names making rounds for the role including Noah Centineo and Kyle Allen, however, the film was never made. This time, fans will be hoping for a different result with the Idea of You star. Many filmmakers like John Stevenson from Kung Fu Panda and Aaron and Adam Nee from The Lost City have also been linked to the project before.

On May 29, Amazon confirmed Nicholas Galitzine's casting in an Instagram post, where the studio also revealed that he will be playing He-Man, the primary character in the storyline. There have been other adaptations of the character before.
Who is behind Nicholas Galitzine's Masters of the Universe?
With so much happening with the film and so many people getting involved over the many years of its production and planning, it may get pretty confusing for most fans. According to the recent reports that emerged, Chris Butler is writing the screenplay for the film. It is also reported that David Callaham and the Nee brothers originally tried to write the script.
The exact plot details have not been divulged yet but it should follow the original lore of He-Man, wherein the superhero from outer space grows up on Earth and goes back to his home planet to fight the evil Skeletor. No additional cast members for Masters of the Universe have been announced yet.
The film will be produced by Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch, alongside Robbie Brenner from Mattel.

Nicholas Galzintine is a British actor who initially rose to prominence with the television series Legends, following which he bagged several lead roles in teen films like Handsome Devil.

He soon gained a wider audience starring in several romantic films on streaming platforms, including Netflix's Cinderella, Purple Hearts (2022), Amazon Prime's Red, White & Royal Blue (2023), and most recently, The Idea of You (2024).
The Idea of You gave Nicholas Galitzine a huge surge in popularity, with the actor also gaining critical acclaim for his performance. Shortly after the Anne Hathway starter film, the actor was signed for the Amazon MGM deal.
