Jamie Lee Curtis recently grabbed eyeballs after she claimed the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going through a poor cinematic phase in a video shared by MTV from San Diego Comic-Con.

In the viral video, Curtis was part of a fun questionnaire where everyone was asked "what phase" the MCU is in currently. The actress did not hesitate to say "bad" when it was her turn, leading to the others gasping at her straightforward answer.

For context, the question was actually intended to test the MCU knowledge of the participants, as the fictional universe goes through various cinematic phases, such as Phase 1, 2, 3, and so on. It is currently in Phase 5.

Netizens were quick to react to Jamie Lee Curtis's bold claim about Marvel. Some disagreed and criticized her for her opinion, while others agreed and lauded her for finally saying it. Here are some reactions to her comment:

"She is not lying," one commented.
"She’s too real for this" a fan agreed.
"Best answer 😂😂😂" another user added.
"GAG IT JAMIE! She spilled so hard" an individual quipped.

Other users disagreed with Curtis, claiming she was being bitter and trolled her for her current career.

"Your recent rise in popularity is due to a lesbian parody of the current state of the MCU, what do you mean bad..," a fan mentioned, referring to Everything Everywhere All At Once.
"was she talking about her career or," a fan trolled.
"She's just bitter," another individual commented.
"Shes never gonna be cast in a marvel movie either way," a user claimed.

This is not the first time Jamie Lee Curtis has been getting heat for her opinion on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She previously criticized the 2022 MCU film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and compared it to her film Everything Everywhere All At Once.

When Jamie Lee Curtis slammed MCU's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

In May 2022, shortly after the release of the MCU film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Jamie Lee Curtis took to Instagram to share a bad review of the film from the NY Times and slammed it publicly.

The actress compared the MCU biggie with her critically acclaimed low-budget film, Everything Everywhere All At Once, claiming that it surpasses the MCU film by a huge margin. Curtis played the supporting role of an IRS representative called Deirdre Beaubeirdre in the comedy-drama film involving parallel universes and the multiverse.

Curtis shared multiple screenshots of the New York Times's review of Doctor Strange 2 and captioned her post "TRUTH ALERT." She added that her film surpasses the MCU film despite having a much lower budget.

"Everything Everywhere All At Once has a deep BEATING heart and BRILLIANT visual treats, EXTRAORDINARY performances and FANTASTIC BEASTLY FIGHT SCENES……AND it COST LESS than the ENTIRE craft service budget on Doctor Strange and/or any other Marvel movie,” her Instagram post's caption read.

She added that she is definitely competing with Doctor Strange 2 with her film. She further claimed that Everything Everywhere All At Once having a "dynamic d**do fight" and an "erotic hotdog hand mating dance" makes it a much better watch than the MCU movie.

"COMPETITIVE? F**k YES. I wasn’t head cheerleader in high school for nothing. And P.S. our movie has a dynamite d**do fight scene as well as a very erotic hotdog hand mating dance and rocks.”

Jamie Lee Curtis ended her post with the hashtag that suggested she would never be cast in a Marvel film. The actress has not starred in any MCU movie.

In another follow-up post, Curtis accused the MCU of coming out with a "copycat poster," comparing a poster of Everything Everywhere All At Once with that of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

“Is it JUST me? Does it seem STRANGE that our tiny movie that could and did and continues to do #1movieinamerica and is TRULY MARVELOUS, out marvels any Marvel movie they put out there @everythingeverywheremovie has a Marvel movie coming out with a copycat poster?”

Notably, Jamie Lee Curtis's co-star from Everything Everywhere All At Once, Michelle Yeoh, starred in the MCU film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
