Actor Ben Stiller recently spoke to the media when he was asked what inclined him toward Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris. Stiller revealed he was quite excited and explained that there is so much energy around the campaign for Harris. In the video posted by social media personality Brian Krassenstein, Ben Stiller further mentioned:
"That's why I'm here because it's time for change and seems like it's happening."
The reporter then asked the Zoolander actor if he believed Harris could hold the "momentum" and energy once the convention was over. Upon being asked if the presidential race was going to be close, Stiller agreed to it and also mentioned that everybody was working hard to win it.
The conversation went viral on the internet, where netizens criticized Ben Stiller's remark about "wanting a change." According to them, the Democratic Party had already been in power for the past couple of years and if he wanted "a change," there was no sense voting for Harris.
Here are some responses made on X on this matter:
Another user wrote,
"'Time for a change,' so naturally, you're voting for someone who's already in power. Brilliant logic."
"How is voting for the same person that’s been in office for four years a change Brian?! It’s almost as if anyone that votes Democrat has a lower IQ and understand nothing!" added a tweet.
"She has been in there 4 years! 😂," commented another one.
A lot of other netizens resonated with the aforementioned remarks and believed the same idea that bringing Harris to power wouldn't mean "change" since she is already the Vice President of the country during Joe Biden's tenure as a President. One netizen tweeted:
"How does Kamala represent change? She’s the empty suit for the establishment."
"Weird, I thought Kamala was the sitting Vice President…" added another user.
"Do they still think trump is in office? Am I missing something?" questioned a netizen.
