Earlier this week, Timothee Chalamet went viral for showing up on an electric bike at the London premiere of A Complete Unknown. But, it turns out, he was fined £65 (approx. $79.53) for not parking the bike properly.
While promoting the biopic on the French talk show Quotidien, Chalamet explained that the traffic in London was so "horrible" that he hopped on an e-bike to get to the premiere of A Complete Unknown on time.
“It was horrible because it was actually kind of an advert for them [Lime],” he said, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
As the news made its way on social media, several netizens began pouring in their views.
Under @PopBase's tweet about the actor's revelation, one person commented that the actor should not have been the one paying the fine since it was an advertisement for a bike company.

A few others shared the same sentiment:
“It's ironic when someone gets fined for something that’s supposed to be a positive advertisement. It just shows how even good intentions can be caught in red tape,” wrote one social media user.
“No one is above the law. Lol,” added another.
“Man out here trying to flex with the e-bike and still caught that fine,” commented one more netizen.
Furthermore, others also poured in hilarious responses and questioned how someone can be fined for parking a bike.
“How do you get fined for parking a bike,” stated one.
“Timothée paid the fine, but Lime got the publicity, sounds like a fair trade,” added another internet user.
“Talk about an ironic twist for the unofficial Lime ad!” joked another fan.
