As the promotional tour of Channing Tatum's new movie Fly Me to the Moon unfolds, Tatum has been sharing his admiration for his co-star Scarlett Johansson and his fiancée Zoë Kravitz. He says saying they're both very good at comedic roles.

Tatum specifically pointed out their work in the 2017 comedy Rough Night, where Johansson and Kravitz both delivered memorable performances. While speaking to ET during the promotions he said,

"That movie was actually really underratedly funny," Tatum remarked.

Elaborating further,

"I didn't see it when it first came out, but later on, I watched it, and it's genuinely hilarious! Scarlett's very, very funny. Weirdly, they're both very funny, but don't get the credit for being funny," Tatum said.

Channing Tatum argued that Zoë Kravitz and Scarlett Johansson are funny, but people only see their beauty and don't cast them in comedies. He said,

"Zoë and Scarlett, because they're so beautiful, people just go, 'We're gonna hire you for that.' Or, 'We're gonna look at you as that and you're not allowed to be anything else.'"

During the premiere, Tatum also shared insights into his relationship with Scarlett Johansson, likening her to a sister.

"She kind of is a bit of a sister in a way. I know it's a love story and whatnot. I've said it before, but, like, I think we just got along really easy… I think we just have similar life experiences. " Tatum said.

It was also reported that Tatum spoke about the easy chemistry he shared with Scarlett Johansson, mentioning they bonded quickly. Tatum said they began joking with each other from the very beginning and developed mutual respect. He described being impressed by Johansson's work ethic, stating that was a major reason he wanted to be in the film.

Channing Tatum said that she was smart, stunning, talented, and had a kind of rebellion in her that made her feel like a sister. Tatum also expressed his delight at working with Zoë Kravitz on her directorial debut, Blink Twice.

Channing Tatum also shared his thoughts on creativity and relationships. He said he sees filmmaking as a continuous process of creation, similar to life itself. In a surprising turn, Tatum offered dating advice. He suggested couples test their compatibility by working on a challenging creative project together, like building a room or painting it.

The key, he said, isn't just finishing the project, but enjoying the process together. He acknowledged there will be difficulties, but overcoming them strengthens the bond. Overall, Channing Tatum presented a test of compatibility through shared creativity and perseverance.

Scarlett Johansson spoke about the collaboration with Channing Tatum in their new movie Fly Me to the Moon, in an interview with Today on July 8, 2024. The 39-year-old actress described Tatum, 44, as "not hard to fall in love with,".

“He’s not hard to fall in love with, I would say,” Johansson shared with host Savannah Guthrie. “He’s just very charismatic. … He’s just [an] absolutely loveable guy.”

Scarlett Johansson was also quoted describing the ease of working with Channing Tatum. She said they focused on getting to know each other and building a connection before filming. This initial effort, according to Johansson, resulted in a natural on-screen chemistry.

Channing Tatum's new movie Fly Me to the Moon is getting a lot of buzz for mixing romance, comedy, and sci-fi. The sci-fi rom-com starring Tatum and Scarlett Johansson is set in the 1960s during the height of the Space Race.
