Dave Franco shared his thoughts about how netizens pointed out his and the CEO shooter Luigi Mangione's resemblance. The Hollywood actor was at the Sundance Film Festival over the weekend for his latest horror film with real-life partner Alison Brie, Together. On the Saturday, January 25, event, The Hollywood Reporter asked Franco if anyone had reached out to him commenting about how he looked similar to Mangione, to which he replied:
"I have never received more texts in my life about anything. Anyone who has my phone number has reached out about it."
The Apples Never Fall star also doubled down on how plenty of people had asked her husband about his similarities with the alleged shooter, saying:
"Anyone? Do you mean everyone?"
Following Dave Franco's comments, netizens flocked to social media to comment on the "uncanny" resemblance of the actor to the CEO shooter.

More people agreed that Dave Franco does look like Mangione and should be cast in a movie about the shooter.

Other social media users doubled down on the comments that the Love Lies Bleeding actor would fit in the role of Luigi Mangione in case a movie was made about him.
"We all know he's going to fit in the role like he's the real Luigi. They should give us that," a user on X commented.
"Yesss, I love how the fabs are rallying behind this! He'd make a great Luigi Mangione," another X user said.
Luigi Mangione had been making headlines since December last year after a multiday manhunt was started to find him after he allegedly killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in downtown Manhattan on December 4.
Mangione was arrested in Pennsylvania on December 9 last year and has been charged with multiple counts of murder.
Dave Franco says "no official offers" have been made for him to play Luigi Mangione in a movie
With the online chatter about how Dave Franco looks like Luigi Mangione and how some fans thought that he would make a great actor to play the CEO shooter in a film, Franco said to The Hollywood Reporter that offers hadn't been made yet.
His wife, Alison Brie, joked during the interview that she didn't think her husband has gotten any official offers yet, to which Dave Franco added:
"No, no official offers."
Since his arrest, the race to produce true crime documentaries about Mangione had started. So far, there are several documentaries on the CEO shooter, including one produced by Investigation Discovery. That said, a scripted movie about Luigi Mangione has not yet been announced.
Speaking of movie projects, Franco and Brie's Together, which is directed and written by Michael Shanks, debuted at the film festival on January 26. They play an onscreen couple who experienced supernatural incidents when they moved to the countryside.
There is no official information for the movie's theater release date yet.
