⁠"The woman is unexpectedly spry" - Ryan Reynolds responds to Martha Stewart's claim, "he's not so funny"

Ryan Reynolds has shared his response to Martha Stewart who called the Deadpool & Wolverine actor “not funny in real life,” as she made an appearance on the Bilt Rewards' November Rent Free game show.

Replying to a post on X on November 2, 2024, about the same, Ryan Reynolds called Martha Stewart “spry,” as he commented:

“I’d disagree with her. But I tried that once. The woman is unexpectedly spry. She really closed the gap after a mile or so.”

The matter started when Bilt CEO Ankur Jain asked Martha to name three celebrities whom she thinks are fun to hang out with. As she named Snoop Dogg as her first choice, she took Ryan Reynolds' name and stated that the actor would be the fans’ first choice. She said:

“He’s probably on the list just ‘cause he covers himself up in his movies and you don’t see his face. Do you want to know something? He’s not so funny in real life. No, he’s not so funny. He’s very serious.”

After naming Ryan, Martha also named Taylor Swift, and called her “just lovely.”

For the unversed, Martha Steward is an author, TV host, and businesswoman. She is known for her shows, Martha Stewart Living, which ran for 11 years, from 1993 to 2004, and The Martha Stewart Show which started in 2005.

She is also known for her books like Martha Stewart's Quick Cook, Martha Stewart's Hors d'Oeuvres, Martha Stewart's Pies & Tarts and Weddings.

As Martha Stewart was asked the question, she did not hesitate and stated that Ryan Reynolds is not funny, however, she claimed that he can “act funny,” but is not funny enough in real life. Furthermore, she also claimed that she would be in trouble post this question, as the actor is his neighbor.

Martha said:

“He’s a good actor. He can act funny, but he isn’t funny. Maybe he can get to be funny again. I’m going to get in trouble. He’s my neighbour.”

Furthermore, Martha also stated that she would rather hang out with Bradd Pitt and George Clooney, as she mentioned:

“Then I would take Ryan off it, and I would put in somebody else. George Clooney, ‘cause he’s fun. George is really nice to hang out with.”

It is worth noting that Martha made an appearance on the game show to promote her new book, Martha: The Cookbook: 100 Favourite Recipes with Lessons and Stories from My Kitchen. The book has already made its way to the bookshelves on October 22, 2024.
