Netizens have reacted to actress Emma Roberts showing off her one-of-one rookie card of Jackson Holliday, the second baseman for the Baltimore Orioles. Holliday is a professional baseball infielder in the Major League Baseball (MLB). The 21-year-old is the son of former MLB All-Star Matt Holliday and was selected first overall by the Orioles in the 2022 MLB draft. He made his MLB debut in 2024.

To commemorate his MLB debut season, playing card manufacturer Topps released an upgraded version of the player's cards called "Topps Chrome Update." One of such cards had Holliday as the cover and was collected by the American Horror Story actress.

On Wednesday, January 1, Emma Roberts took to Instagram Story and posted her photo with a Chrome Gilded Topps card featuring Jackson Holliday in his batting stance. She captioned it as:

"The face of pulling my most coveted 1/1."

Netizens took to X to react to Roberts pulling out the one-of-one card on the first day of 2025. While some fans alleged that the 33-year-old got the card for sponsorship reasons, others speculated that they were dating. Some popular reactions on X are as follows:

"Things we didn’t expect to see today or….ever," a fan commented.
"Lmao yeah like when someone hits a 5 dollar parlay for 1 million dollars and it 'goes viral,'" wrote another.
"Sick of topps and panini sending these celebs and breakers juiced boxes while the rest of us grind for it. Makes collecting so hard to enjoy at times," a user chimed in.

One user theorized that the two stars were dating. They wrote:

"Damn. i didn’t know they were dating"
"Wow and it came in a protected cover, what are the odds!" opined another.
"She didn’t get paid for the post she just got sent a pack and posted with all the hashtags and tagged the companies for zero reason," commented another user on X.

Some other reactions on X are as follows:

"God damn collectors are a bunch of whiney b*tches. Instead of being happy to see a pull it's "RiGgEd" like a bunch of 12-year-olds in a twitch chat," a fan commented.
"Who knew Emma Roberts was a ball knower… pretty sweet," another opined.
"The wildest mashup of 2025 so far," a fan inferred on X.

Emma Roberts is a known card-collecting enthusiast and has shown many of her special trading cards over the last few months. In November 2024, Roberts posted about owning a 132-of-150 card featuring Washington Nationals outfielder Dylan Crews. The 33-year-old also posted about a card featuring New York Yankees prodigy Spencer Jones.

In a 2024 interview with iHeartMedia for the show Table For Two With Bruce Bozzi, Emma Roberts opened up about the longstanding debate of nepotism. The 33-year-old actress opined that there are always "two sides of the coin when it comes to nepo babies discourse."

The Nancy Drew actress is the niece of Julia Roberts and the daughter of Eric Roberts. Talking about the assortment of preconceived notions people have about nepotism in the industry, she said:

“People like to say, ‘Oh, you know, you have a leg up because you’re a family in the industry.’ But then the other side to that is, you know, you have to prove yourself more. Also, if people don’t have a good experience being to be with other people in your family, then you’ll never get a chance.”

Emma Roberts continued:

“Because everybody loves the kind of overnight success story, if you’re not the girl from the middle of nowhere that broke into Hollywood there’s an eye roll of like, Well, your dad was this.”

The actress also pointed out the alleged discrimination faced by young actresses as opposed to actors when talking about nepotism.

“I always joke I’m like, ‘Why is no one calling out George Clooney for being a nepo baby?’ His aunt Rosemary Clooney was an icon. Young girls, I feel like, get it harder with the nepo baby thing. I don’t really see people calling out you know, sons of famous actors. Not that they should be called that. I don’t think anyone should be called out wanting to follow their dreams," Roberts explained.

She ended the discourse by explaining that newbie actors need to highlight their failures along with their success. Otherwise, people think that "nepo babies" never face rejection in their lives.

Born in 1991, Emma Roberts is the daughter of Eric Roberts and Kelly Cunningham. However, her parents got divorced when she was seven. She started her acting career in 2001 with the film Blow.

Over the years, Emma Roberts has established herself as a big name in the industry, renowned for roles in films like The Art of Getting By, Wild Child, Nancy Drew, Aquamarine, and It's Kind of a Funny Story.
