Jordan Peele's next theatrical project has got an official release date. On June 17, 2024, the Get Out director teased fans with details of his upcoming project by simply posting the date, '10.23.26' on X with no additional details.

The tweet has received more than 16 million views on the social media platform since it was posted.

As of this writing, no other details about the movie's story, title, cast, etc. has been shared. But, given that its release date is set during Halloween season, Jordan will likely stick to the horror genre for his next project as well.

Following Nope's release in July 2022, Jordan Peele was slated to release his next directorial venture on Christmas Day, December 25, 2024. Universal Pictures had announced the project in March 2023 but didn't follow it up with any additional information.

However, the film had to be scrapped due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes that began in May and July 2023 repectively. They went on for several months and brought Hollywood to a standstill.

Jordan Peele spoke about the issue on the Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast in early January 2024:

“This has been … obviously, it’s been an interesting year because the writer’s strike had had me in a state of listening, and that’s where I need to be. I do feel like my next project is clear to me, and I’m psyched that I have another film that, you know, could be my favorite movie if I make it right.”

Universal Pictures replaced the film on its release schedule with Nosferatu by Robert Eggers. The supernatural gothic film will feature Bill Skarsgård as the vampire Count Orlok and will be released by Focus Features, a subsidiary of Universal.

Jordan Peele, who comes from a comedy background, jumped into the horror genre with Get Out in 2017. The film starring Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams, Bradley Whitford and Catherine Keener in lead roles was a massive hit at the box office.

The movie also earned Peele his first Oscar for Best Original Screenplay in 2018. Additionally, he was also nominated in the Best Director and Best Picture categories for the film. He received another Oscar nomination the following year in 2019 in the Best Picture category for producing Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman.

Jordan Peele continued his successful streak with his next two films, starting with Us featuring Lupita Nyong'o in 2019. It was followed by the neo-Western science fiction film Nope, starring Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer, in 2022.
