A brief to Skibidi Toilet
Skibidi Toilet was created by a Georgian animator, Alexey Gerasimov. It is a machinima web series of YouTube videos and shorts, and he uploaded the series on his YouTube channel DaFuq!?Boom!. It first premiered on February 7, 2023. Initially, the series gain to prominence when the Georgian animator posted an eleven-second YouTube Short which showed a singing head poking out of a toilet.
The head with a long neck poking out of the toilet seat sang the remixed lyrics from a Biser King famous song, Dom Dom Yes Yes, which he specifically picked from TikTok posted by TikToker Paryss Bryann. According to Forbes, the head from a filthy toilet is inspired by a recurring nightmare that haunted Alexey Gerasimov.
According to the publication, the head popping out could be an invasive alien species or a virus. Alexey Gerasimov does not explain the narrative behind the animation. However, many theories and conspiracies have been made about who watched the series. Some suggested that the series progresses and shows the world getting destroyed; some said that Skibidis are speaking in song and spreading the virus, as per Forbes.
Michael Bay to bring Skibidi Toilet to the big screen
Goodman revealed that Michael Bay is teaming up with Alexey Gerasimov to bring his animated sensation to the big screens. The news broke last week on Variety's podcast when the guest Adam Goodman at Strictly Business suggested that Bay and Jeffrey Beecroft have teamed up and are trying to adapt the videos into a "hybrid animated–live action" film and television series.
"I will say that Michael....has been working very closely with Alexey to really professionalize the kind of back engine of this, to make sure, if we ever decide to go film or television, that this is kind of lifted beyond just the resources that creators have on the internet," Goodman told Variety.
He further revealed that they are currently in conversation with both the television side and the earliest conversations on the film side. However, Michael Bay did not confirm the news yet but did not deny Goodman's revelation during the podcast.
