According to a report by Fox News dated December 14, 2024, actor Jamie Foxx was injured during an altercation at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills while celebrating his 57th birthday. Jamie's spokesperson told the news outlet that the incident occurred on the night of December 13, 2024, while the actor was dining at Mr. Chow.
The spokesperson's statement read:
"Jamie Foxx was at his birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth. He had to get stitches and is recovering. The police were called, and the matter is now in law enforcement’s hands."
Fox News reported that officers from the Beverly Hills Police Department responded to a reported assault with a deadly weapon at the Chinese restaurant on December 13, 2024. The BHPD officers arrived at the scene at 10:06 p.m., and investigated the incident reporting that the claim of assault with a deadly weapon was "unfounded". However, the police mentioned:
"The incident involved a physical altercation between parties."
After a preliminary investigation, authorities documented the battery in their report and made no arrests. The news portal stated that BHPD's investigation into the matter is still ongoing.

Jamie said that what exactly happened to him is still a mystery, adding that he suffered from a headache before passing out. The actor mentioned not remembering the 20 days that he was hospitalized, recalling that his doctor told his family that Jamie might be able to make a full recovery, but it was going to be the worst year of the actor's life.
Jamie Fox mentioned that the doctor operated on him to locate the origin of his brain bleed and his sister prayed outside the operation theatre the entire time. Commenting on the phrase "Life flashes before your eyes" usually associated with one's near-death experience, Jamie said:
"Your life doesn't flash before your face, it was kind of oddly peaceful, I saw a tunnel, I didn't see the light. It was hot in that tunnel, am I going to the wrong place?"
