George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino appear to be at odds following recent comments made by the director. In a joint cover story for GQ Magazine published on August 13, 2024, George Clooney and Brad Pitt discussed their upcoming movie Wolfs and their experiences in Hollywood.

During the conversation, Clooney revealed that he was quite annoyed at the comments made by Tarantino. Clooney said:

“Quentin said some s*** about me recently, so I’m a little irritated by him. He did some interview where he was naming movie stars, and he was talking about you, and somebody else, and then this guy goes, “Well, what about George?” He goes, he’s not a movie star.”

He further added:

“And then he literally said something like, “Name me a movie since the millennium.” And I was like, “Since the millennium? That’s kind of my whole f****** career.”

The actor was shocked at the director's suggestion that he had not made any good movies since 2000. However, it is not clear which interview the actor was referring to. Despite that, he stated that he was fortunate to have worked with directors like Quentin Tarantino. Nonetheless, after the filmmaker's comment, he did not seem to be bothered by the remarks.

George Clooney mentioned that it is the director and screenplay that hold significance in an actor’s career. His remark is evident because he had a fruitful career over the last few decades. Clooney received the Academy Award for the best supporting actor for the 2005 film Syriana.

George Clooney worked with Quentin Tarantino in the 1996 film From Dusk Till Dawn

Clooney recalled that in the movie directed by Robert Rodriguez, Quentin Tarantino played the role of his brother. The movie won several awards, with George Clooney winning the Saturn Award for the best actor, while Quentin Tarantino was nominated for the best supporting actor. Over the last few years, Clooney has not been a regular actor with back-to-back movies.

The actor rose to fame with his role as Doug Ross in the popular medical drama ER before starting a successful career in Hollywood. He then starred in films such as Out of Sight, One Fine Day, O Brother, etc. He completes 40 years of being an actor.

Quentin Tarantino’s career in the industry began as an independent filmmaker. His first film, Reservoir Dogs, released in 1992, remains a major hit.

Two years later, his second work, Pulp Fiction, saw major success, with the film receiving numerous awards. Throughout his career, the director has won two Oscars, two BAFTA awards, and three Critics Choice Awards. Reportedly, his final film, The Movie Critic, has been canceled.

Brad Pitt and George Clooney’s thriller comedy Wolfs is set to be released on September 27. The film is written and directed by Jon Watts. Its theatrical run will continue for a week, starting from September 20.
