The Hunger Games film series catapulted the fame of actors like Josh Hutcherson and Jennifer Lawrence. Donald Sutherland played a pivotal role in all four films in the series, as he portrayed the tyrannical and fascist dictator Coriolanus Snow.

Coriolanus Snow is the President of Panem (the sovereign nuclear state which hosts the Hunger Games). President Snow was involved in bringing several new reforms to the Games in the film. He served as the primary antagonist in the main Hunger Games film series. However, Tom Blyth played a younger version of Coriolanus Snow in the prequel film titled The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, where Snow is not the evil dictator yet as portrayed by Sutherland in the major film series.

Fans regarded Donald Sutherland as exceptional in his role as Coriolanus Snow, portraying a very hateable character who misuses his power to control Panem. Snow heads the anti-rebellion movement in the film series and holds no reservations about eliminating his opponents.

The character Snow does all he can to squash the rebellion and keeps a special eye on Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) as she slowly becomes a symbol of hope for the rebels. President Snow was deceased at the end of the film series following his capture and conviction of crimes. Sutherland remains remembered for one of the most iconic roles in Hunger Games' history.

Donald Sutherland was also a prominent anti-war activist and some of his major accolades include a Primetime Emmy Award, a Golden Globe, and an Academy Award nomination.
