Olivia Munn and John Mulaney shared the news of their growing family as the couple welcomed their second child.

Munn and Mulaney each announced the birth of their second kid, a daughter, born via gestational surrogacy on Sunday, September 22. Olivia Munn shared a photo of her holding their daughter in the hospital, while the actress sat on Mulaney's lap. She captioned the Intagram post:

"Mei June Mulaney came into the world September 14, 2024, the year of the dragon."

Likewise, Mulaney shared the news of Mei's birth on his Instagram. He also joked about stealing "so much stuff from the hospital" in the caption.

Olivia Munn and John Mulaney secretly married in July 2022 in a pared-back ceremony at a friend's family home in New York State, which was officiated by Munn's The Newsroom costar Sam Waterson. The couple are also parents to their 2-year-old son Malcolm Hiep, whom they welcomed in November 2021.

Olivia Munn and John Mulaney each noted the correct pronunciation of their second child's name. They also shared its meaning in the caption of each of their Instagram posts. They wrote:

"Mei (pronounced may) means plum in Chinese."

The actress also admitted in the caption that she has "many profound emotions" about not being the one to carry their daughter. She also expressed appreciation towards their surrogate, adding that they spoke "mother to mother" when they first met. Olivia Munn appreciated how their surrogate "showed [her] so much grace and understanding."

Munn called their gestational surrogate a "real-life angel." The actress further noted that "words can't express" how grateful they are for their surrogate in keeping "our baby safe for 9 months" and making their dreams come true.

Munn previously opened up about her breast cancer diagnosis in 2023. She told People in April 2024 that getting diagnosed with the "terrifying" disease resulted in four surgeries, a double mastectomy, and a medically induced menopause.

Thankfully, Olivia Munn is "doing ok" as of September 4, when she shared a health update on Instagram detailing her cancer journey. In the video, she mentioned having an egg retrieval in June 2023, months after she received her cancer diagnosis, and getting a breast reconstruction in September that same year.

Meanwhile, John Mulaney also shared a clip of him and Mei from the hospital in his recent Instagram post. It showed the father of two trying to burp Mei and the little one spitting up on his shirt. The couple also shared a picture of their family of four, with Munn kissing their 2-year-old son Malcolm on the cheeks and Mulaney carrying their newborn in his arms, with their backs to the camera.
