Actor Armie Hammer recently addressed claims of cannibalism levied against him. On the debut episode of his podcast, Armie HammerTime posted on Monday, October 28, 2024, the Man From U.N.C.L.E. star told guest Tom Arnold that the public reaction to the rumor was "wild," before adding:

"I'm not going to lie, I kind of like the cannibal stuff now."

For the unversed, in early 2021, several women accused Hammer of misconduct, r*pe, and violence. One of the women (his ex), Courtney Vucekovich, claimed that the actor expressed BDSM and cannibalistic fantasies. While the actor has denied the allegations, rumors of cannibalism have surrounded him since.

Armie Hammer tells Tom Arnold he has come to terms with the cannibal label

During his conversation with Tom Arnold, Armie Hammer actor reasoned that the cannibal rumors "make more noise" (referring to publicity) and has since accepted the label. He quipped:

"I’m not gonna lie. I’m just like, ‘Hey, I’m a cannibal,’" before adding, "What makes more noise? ‘Armie Hammer is a cannibal’ or ‘Armie Hammer might not be a cannibal?’"

He continued to explain that people "don't get an apology tour in this world," adding:

"Someone says something about you, everyone believes it, and they move on with their lives to whatever it is they're focused on, because they've got their own lives."

Hammer announced his podcast in an Instagram video shared earlier in the day. The clip shows the actor skating in Venice Beach in Los Angeles, and stating that he had news and not everyone was going to like it. Hammer added that it would serve as a "journal" for him to learn from his guests as he puts his "life back together."

Elsewhere in the episode, Hammer told Arnold he was no longer upset with his friends who abandoned him when the controversies surrounding him first made headlines in 2021. He stated that he understood their need to "distance themselves." He also explained that he worked on himself, telling Arnold:

"When something like this happens, we do all this work on ourselves... not so that we can get the jobs back but so that we don't care if we get the jobs back. I think that's where I feel like I am now."

To be noted, the actor has denied any criminal wrongdoing. Additionally, in 2023, the Los Angeles Police Department did not charge him with s*xual assault following an investigation.

The allegations also led to the demise of his career. He last appeared in the 2022 film, Death on the Nile. The podcast marks his first project since.

In July 2024, Armie Hammer appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored, where he was questioned about the cannibal allegations. At the time, he stated:

"You know what you have to do to be a cannibal? You have to have actually eaten someone."

He also addressed the cannibalistic messages, stating they were born out of a desire to want someone "completely" and "totally" that you want to eat them.

He also confessed that in the aftermath of the controversy, he contemplated suicide but decided against it for his children. Hammer shares two kids, Harper and Ford, with ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers.

The debut episode of Armie HammerTime is available to stream on Apple Podcasts.
