Zac Efron updates fans about his health after reported hospitalization due to Ibiza swimming pool incident

Zac Efron fans were left concerned after the news of his hospitalization erupted on social media. Many publications like Page Six reported that the actor had suffered a minor accident while he was enjoying his time in Ibiza, Spain. Following the accident, he was immediately taken to the hospital on Friday, August 2, 2024, as a precautionary measure.

While the actor was released from the hospital the following day, he has now shared his health update with his fans, stating that he is “happy and healthy.” Sharing a shirtless picture of himself on his Instagram stories, where he can be seen lifting weights, he wrote:

“Happy and healthy. Thanks for all the wishes.”

Before the A Family Affair actor gave a health update to the fans, Zac Efron’s spokesperson spoke to People Magazine and stated that the actor was fine. Meanwhile, ET Online reported that as the accident occurred inside the swimming pool, Zac had to be pulled out by two people working in the Ibiza villa.

Zac Efron was seen in the 2024 Paris Olympics’ opening ceremony, from where he made his way to Spain to enjoy the Summer in Ibiza. Furthermore, before his alleged fall, he was seen performing with DJ Martin Garrix at Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel.

While Zac Efron’s medical issue was reportedly minor this time, the actor, in 2013, suffered major injuries after he had a massive fall. ET Online had reported that at the time, he slipped in a puddle of water, and his mouth was wired shut, which broke his jaw, and left him severely injured.

The hit on the jaw required several stitches, which also postponed the plans for the promotion of his movie, Awkward Moment. He later spoke to ET at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2022, revisited the time, and stated how he “almost died” at the time.

Addressing the rumor of how many social media users started stating that Zac Efron had surgically altered his face, he said:

"My mom told me. I don't really read the internet, so, I don’t really give a f**k. It was funny... It sucks, I almost died. But we're good."
