Shortly after the immensely successful Ryan Murphy series Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, Netflix is now set to delve into the other side of the story with The Menendez Brothers. This new documentary promises to shed light on the events that led to Lyle and Erik Menendez killing their parents. It will also be the first time the general public hears the story from Lyle and Erik's perspective.

While Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story gained significant traction, many believed it did not accurately represent the events that led to the double murder. Lyle and Erik claimed that they had killed their parents out of fear. They claimed that they planned to expose their father's decades-long history of abuse, which would have prompted their father to kill them.

The official trailer for The Menendez Brothers dropped on September 23, and after the wide publicity from Monsters, many fans eagerly came forward to learn the real story behind the murders.

With many fans talking about the trailer of The Menendez Brothers on online platforms like X, @dinmurdock summed things up by saying:

"Okay now we can hear the real people speak."

Many other fans made similar comments, expressing their desire to know the truth from Lyle and Erik Menendez.

"I hope ppl really get to see the case for what it is. Free them both. They were assaulted and r^peď by their parents so how does that put them in prison??" Another fan added.
"Ouuu, I can't wait to hear their side of the story." Yet another user wrote.
"I'm curious to hear their perspective and how their experiences have shaped them since the events unfolded. Looking forward to the premiere." Another user chimed in.
"Yeah i'll just watch this instead." Another fan said, referencing Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez story.

The Menendez Brothers is set to premiere on Netflix on October 7, 2024.

What is The Menendez Brothers all about?

Following hot on the heels of Ryan Murphy's Monsters, which is a dramatized depiction of Lyle and Erik Menendez's story, The Menendez Brothers is an upcoming documentary from Netflix that promises to shed light on the story of Lyle and Erik. This new documentary aims to focus on the perspective of the brothers.

The documentary will also focus on the real events and testimonies from those who were either involved or have witnessed the crime closely. The documentary comes from the acclaimed documentary director Alejandro Hartmann. It is set to provide a sharp contrast to Ryan Murphy's Monsters, which dramatizes the events of the double murder.
