"Pick a Jennifer already" — Internet reacts to Ben Affleck reportedly spending Thanksgiving with ex-wife Jennifer Garner

According to an exclusive report by The New York Post dated November 28, 2024, Ben Affleck was spotted spending Thanksgiving with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner. The duo was volunteering with Midnight Mission in downtown Los Angeles wherein they wore matching aprons and were seen greeting other volunteers.

In some of the pictures obtained by the publication, Affleck was seen whispering in Garner's ear. The former couple was married from 2005 to 2018. In July 2022, Affleck married actress-singer Jennifer Lopez. TMZ reported that she filed for divorce in L.A. County Superior Court and mentioned April 26, 2024, as the date of separation.

The New York Post also shared a snippet of Ben Affleck's Thanksgiving with Jennifer Garner on X on November 29, 2024, and netizens were quick to react to the same. Commenting on how Affleck had been married to Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer Garner at different points in his life, an X user tweeted:

"I don’t blame my ex-wife for my alcoholism"—Ben Affleck clarifies statement on Jennifer Garner after backlash

During an appearance on The Howard Stern Show in December 2021, Ben Affleck addressed his marriage with Jennifer Garner and said part of why he started drinking alcohol was because he felt trapped in their marriage.

The statement resulted in the Deep Water actor receiving a lot of backlash. Clarifying his statement in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in March 2023, Affleck said that his behavior was his responsibility and the point he tried to make at The Howard Stern Show was "a sad one".

Ben Affleck added that his statement was coherent but was picked up in another way. The Daredevil actor further mentioned:

"And it didn’t matter how many times I said: ‘I do not feel this way. I’m telling you, I don’t blame my ex-wife for my alcoholism. So, yeah. It’s hard.”

For the unversed, Jennifer Garner was married to Scott Foley when she first met Ben Affleck in 2001. According to People magazine, the duo's first public appearance as a couple was at a Red Sox World Series game in October 2004. Before marrying Garner in June 2005, Affleck was engaged to Jennifer Lopez from November 2022 to January 2004.

In June 2015, Affleck and Garner announced their divorce stating that they would co-parent their children.
