Queens of Christmas on BET+: Full list of cast

Since last month, BET+ has been bringing us Christmas movies every week, and Queens of Christmas is the penultimate movie in this lineup brought to us by the streaming service. Packed with yuletide love, drama, romance, and laughs, Queens of Christmas will be airing tomorrow December 19, 2024, on BET+.

The movie follows the friendship and feud between two longtime friends, Doris and Julia, and explores how they learn the true meaning of ‘sisterhood’ and Christmas as they compete for the annual title of ‘Queen of Christmas." Starring Terri J. Vaughn and Vanessa Bell Calloway, the movie is a must-watch this holiday season.

1) Terri J. Vaughn as Doris Griffin

Terri Juanita Vaughn is an American actor, director, and producer who plays Doris, one of the two friends competing for the title of Queen of Christmas in the BET+ movie.

Vaughn is best known for her role as Lovita Alizay Jenkins-Robinson, a high school secretary in The WB sitcom The Steve Harvey Show, which ran from 1997 to 2002. She has also starred in UPN/The CW sitcom All of Us (2003–2005) and TBS sitcom Meet the Browns (2009–2011).

Vaughn was honored with three Outstanding Supporting Actress at the NAACP Image Awards in a Comedy Series for this role.

2) Vanessa Bell Calloway as Julia Mason

Vanessa Bell Calloway is an American actor who joins Vaughn on Queens of Christmas as Doris' lifelong friend Julia with whom she has a healthy competition. Bell Calloway began her career as a dancer but rose to fame for her roles as Princess Imani Izzi in the 1988 comedy Coming to America and its sequel.

Some of her other films include Death Spa (1988), What's Love Got to Do with It (1993), The Inkwell (1994), Daylight (1996), Crimson Tide (1995), The Brothers (2001) and Biker Boyz (2003). Bell Calloway has also starred in various television series and soap operas like Under One Roof (1995), Hawthorne, Shameless and This Is Us.

Previously, she also starred in the BET+ crime drama, The Black Hamptons, and played Marian Shields Robinson in the biographical drama film Southside with You (2016). Bell Calloway is a nine-time NAACP Image Awards nominee.

3) Essence Atkins as Nancy

American actor Essence Uhura Atkins began her career with sitcoms and she bagged her first regular role on the African-American prime-time drama Under One Roof in 1995. She has also starred in sitcoms like The WB's Smart Guy, UPN's Half & Half (2002–2006), the TBS sitcom Are We There Yet? (2010–2013), and the NBC sitcom Marlon (2017–2018).

Some of her movies include How High (2001), Deliver Us from Eva (2003), Dance Flick (2009), and The Noel Diary (2022). Atkins plays Nancy in the BET movie. Details about this role are not available.

4) Tyler Kay Whitley as Vanessa Griffin
