Rumours is a black comedy film directed and written by Guy Maddin, Evan Johnson, and Galen Johnson. Liz Jarvis, Lars Knudsen, and Philipp Kreuzer serve as the film's producers, while Ari Aster serves as its executive producer. The geopolitical satire premiered on May 18, 2024, at the 77th Cannes Film Festival.

"Rumours follows the seven leaders of the world’s wealthiest democracies at the annual G7 summit, where they attempt to draft a provisional statement regarding a global crisis..... these so-called leaders become spectacles of incompetence, contending with increasingly surreal obstacles in the misty woods as night falls and they realize they are suddenly alone."

Cate Blanchett stars as Hilda Ortmann, the Chancellor of Germany, in the film.
Cate's range as an actor is showcased in the versatile roles she has played in films like Elizabeth, Babel, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Carol, Tár, Don't Look Up, The Lord of the Rings film series, and many others.
Additionally, she is a two-time Oscar winner, having won the 'Best Actress' Oscar for Blue Jasmine and 'Best Supporting Actress' Oscar for The Aviator.
Blanchett is also known for starring in Mrs. America, Bordertown, Heartland, and Stateless on television.
2) Alicia Vikander as Celestine Sproul
Alicia Vikander plays Celestine Sproul in the movie. She is the Secretary-General of the European Commission and becomes obsessed with the giant brain in the woods.

Roy Dupuis plays the Canadian Prime Minister, Maxime Laplace.
Dupuis has worked extensively in Canadian cinema and is best remembered for playing Michael Samuelle, a counterterrorism operative, in the series La Femme Nikita. He also played Ovila Pronovost in the 1990s soap opera, Caleb's Daughters.
